DEXDEXTER
Don't know much about this band or where they came from (if anyone knows please drop me a line!) other than they are named after a character in '80's U.S. soap opera Dynasty, and some of the members are from the Basque area of Spain. According to their only single, the band members are called Gage, Xav, Even and Gjeih.

They have been described as 'futurists' and sound like a mix of Roxy Music, Duran Duran, Adam & the Ants, Japan, Culture Club and a hint of the Spice Girls or any other hugely successful pop band of the last 5 years. As with most pop bands, their songs are fun and catchy as hell, but the difference with DexDexter is a touch of darkness and bitchiness in their lyrics.

Initial coverage was obtained by the band when a demo was handed to Club Skinny promoter Kevin Wilde, who was influential in the brief 'new romo' scene championed by the Melody Maker in 1995. Indeed, their first release the same year was a track on the Melody Maker New Romo compilation, which was given away free with each issue of the magazine sold in the week it was featured.

There was nothing else from the band until the long-delayed release of their debut single, 'Another Car, Another Car Crash', in 1996, and after this things again fell silent in the DexDexter camp.

There is a website claiming to be the 'Official DexDexter Homepage' but this features nothing except some artwork, and a promise that it would be updated in 2002, but no details of the current whereabouts of the band are mentioned.
