The Punisher - Platform(s): PS2/PC
Developer: Volition Studios
Publisher: THQ

It seems that games these days seem to become less original and become a lot more mixed, with many different styles from many different titles during the past years, the Punisher is one of them. The setting is set, for all you Marvel comic book readers out there who all know, this grim character keeps his cool original form from past comic book adventures and now he's in a comical-styled, third-person shooter developed by  Volition Studios. This game is not all too bad, much of the voice acting is good enough to keep you on the edge of your seat, for just enough time to make this game boring and make you wanna go search for another shooter. The gameplay is much inspired by last year's hit release Max Payne 2, well, it's much like Max Payne without the Bullet Time, but this time you get to "interrogate" Punisher's enemies, using your analog stick or your mouse button to perform the action depending on the current interrogation "method".For example, lets say you want to choke someone to get some dirt out of them, so you hold the mouse button and move up to interrogate them, but holding and jerking upwards can kill your victim, just do it long enough to get something useful out of them and just kill them. And also you can just go up to them, grab them and just quick kill them, murdering instantly with the weapon your holding. Although much of this is cool the gameplay was very much inspired.
Pros: -----
+ Cool interrogation methods, very gruesome special kills
+ Overall good voice acting with minimum errors
+ The feel of the game is pure and genuine

Cons: ------
- The feel of the game is also substantially lowered due to lack of originality
- The interrogation actions are stale after performing numerous accounts over the course of the entire game

Although with all these flaws, The Punisher is still a great game, and the Punisher himself is still proven to be a good character to be used as a character in a third person shooter. The Punisher could've done better, gameplay wise. Volition really tries to base this game as close as possible to the comic book series, but overall this is a good game to try out and rent.
So, finally the overall and score it so surely sould deserve is:
7.6 - Pure Pleasure, ... ... but Lacking                               Originality
