| Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, PS2 Review By: Wilson Liang Dated: 10.28.04 MY TO THE POINT REVIEW! Yes, here it is from Rockstar Game's themselves! The third game that slighty coincides with previous titles like GTA III, and GTA Vice City. This however is a bit more structured game than GTAIII and GTA VC was. This game is set in a remake of the cities Los Angelos, San Fransico, and Las Vegas. With the remade names of Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas. The game now is more of a gang type game with you, CJ Johnson, teaming up with your old Orange Grove Gang as you return from Liberty City to find that your dear old mother has died. Reason unknown, but you have to team up with the old gang and reclaim your turf and regain your rep, because like GTAIII anything can happen here... Pros: + Great game cooped with great music titles from the 90's. Ranging from early rap, rock, jazz, and also more hilarious talk shows. + The features that CJ can do are practically endless. He can build his muscles at a local gym, excercise to keep those pounds off and even eat to regain stamina! + Doesn't run away too much from the GTA Franchise too much without it being totally new game. + Load up times are sometimes unoticed and when loading takes less than 4 seconds anyway. + After your done with the missions have fun in your own CASINOS! and other side missions! Cons: - Being that this is somewhat like GTA VC the feel is still somewhat stale at times. - The game engine is 3 years old and is getting to look a bit, um, well old. But with that said GTA San Andreas is still very impressive to look at a tehcnical standpoint. The gameplay is very similar to past GTA title games and RockStar North trying to cram all the cool and neat features in is also very neat. And while games that tend to have a lot of materials crammed into it screw up horribly, GTA San Andreas manages to hold onto it pretty well. And in the end this game is a worthy to buy. Final Score: 9.5! |
