WELCOME TO TRADER ROB'S GAME SHOW COLLECTION
Yes, that is my license plate!
NEWS

(5/25/04) - FINALLY an UPDATE.   I have recently moved from Naperville to West Dundee, IL ( about 45 minutes north and west) and am still unpacking.  The tapes are not accessible and I'm not really ready to get back into trading yet.  I've got a lot of tapes to add to the collection and before I get back into the swing, I want to get everything up to date.  So for now, I remain unavailable, so don't e-mail me!
TRADE CONDITIONS

I do NOT trade for cash, money orders, blank tapes, gold doubloons, livestock, mail-order grooms or any other form of currency.  I only trade for other game shows or other non-game show related TV.

For the purpose of trading equally, 1 episode=30 minutes (regardless of whether or not there are commercials included). If there is space remaining, I can include clips from my clips section to fill any remaining time if you request them.  I also have non-game show related material that I will trade for game shows.   Minimum trades are 2 hours.

*UPDATED* I send all my trades USPS Priority Mail and I request you do the same unless it is a finanical burden.  Shipping costs have gone up quite a bit over the last few years and so if you can not send Priority Mail, please send first class.  Please note that if you send your tape first, I will ship your tape back the same way you shipped mine.  Also, I prefer US addresses only.

I am a generally trusting trader and will send trades out to people as I finish them (if I've traded with you before).  But, be warned!  If I mail a trade and do not receive yours within a 3 week period after mailing yours out (unless we talked about things ahead of time), I will publicly announce to the alt.tv.game-shows newsgroup and the game show listserver that you are not a legitimate trader.  Your name will also appear on my web page as someone who is not to be traded with!

IMPORTANT: For first time traders, I will expect to receive your tape before I will send mine out.

And, on that note, I will be keeping in touch with you and letting you know how many trades I may have ahead of you and about how long it'll take to finish your tape.  I'll also let you know the day I mailed your tape and when I received yours.  Please do the same thing so that I can keep tabs on how things are going on your end.

If your collection does not make any mention of the video quality and I request an episode with poor video quality, please let me know.

I use new, blank tapes when I do trades and I expect the tapes I receive to be new (but not blank!) as well.

If I, for some reason, should make an error when making your tape, I will be happy to correct it.  I can either record a show I may have missed onto a new tape or have you mail the original tape back to me (at my expense) and I will correct it and send it back to you.  If *you* should make an error, I would expect the same level of treatment.

When making a request, PLEASE use the reference number (ie... 5-4) so that I don't have to go searching for episodes.  It'll speed things up!

Please note that if your collection is primarily material taped from GSN, I will turn you down unless there is something that I find genuinely worthwhile such as a marathon of special episodes or a rare episode such as the airing of 10K Pyramid or Eye Guess.
While I'll trade for most any game show I don't already have, here is the customary "WANT" list:

Wheel of Fortune - Sajak/White episodes with original theme, Woolery/Stafford eps, Sajak/Stafford eps
Shopper's Bazaar - Wheel of Fortune pilot episode with Edd Byrnes
Play The Percentages - couples format
Bullseye - any episode I don't have
Lingo (1980s version)  - any episode I don't have
Couch Potatoes - pilot
Treasure Hunt, The New - 1970's version
The "pilot" episodes of JD Roth's "Fun House" - game played differently
Press Your Luck episodes from 1983

Non Game Show wants:

Original broadcasts from the early days of MTV (1981-1985).  Am especially interested in the ORIGINAL BROADCAST of MTV's first hours on 8/1/81

Don't laugh, and this is a big shot in the dark, but I am looking for original footage of The Weather Channel from anytime before 1984, and just like MTV, I'd be interested in a tape of the first hours of TWC from 5/2/82.

Episodes of Nickelodeon's "Mr. Wizard's World", preferably from the original airings of the 1983 season, which had different theme music and segment introductions.  When new episodes began in 1985, they overdubbed the 1983 episodes with the new titles and graphics.
