| Pre show - We left for Hyde Park around 9:30am. Arrived there around 11:30am. Set up camp by one of the entry gates and settled in for a tiring morning / early afternoon of sunbathing, eating, magazine reading and playing UNO lol. Around 3:30pm they began letting us into the venue part. As soon as i got to the security check i was stopped, as i had been left with the food bag which had to be searched. It was here that I got split up from EVERYBODY! I hung around just inside hoping to spot Jess, or Laura, or cousin, anyone i knew. I eventually spotted my sister and her bf and we made our way down to the front. I was calling up my cousin and Laura to find out if Jess was with them and where abouts they were. Eventually we all found each other. We had settled down and had a fairly okay view, but it wasn't good enough for my bro and his friends and they had all wandered off. We didn't find them again until we left (around 11pm) The opening act "Live" were... well frankly, i don't remember. There was a lot of pushing and shoving and after around 8hours in the sun i was starting to feel ill. Jess, Stuart and I moved to the "Beer tent" and sat in the shade under a huge tree. When Bon Jovi came on stage, we moved to near where the toilet facilities were set up. We had a great view of the big screens, room to sit down and were near the food, drink and toilets. perfect location lol. None of us were all too fussed about seeing them on stage, cos as much as we like the music, we arent obsessed, unlike my sister and her friend Debs and everyone else who we had travelled up with. The Show - Was amazing! Bon Jovi certainly know how to put on a performance! They did a 3hr set of songs, both old and new. With an occassional costume change (Jon taking his jacket on and off... lmao) It finished with a grand finale of fireworks. Most impressive! ***Sorry for the lack of detail, but it wasn't BSB, so i am unable to retain all knowledge of song order and minute details of quirky expressions they made. I will see if my brother is able to write a better review for me*** The journey home was eventful, but not in a good way. I think i'll save you the details... |
