Guru, Vegetable

Character's Name: Vegetable Guru

Email Address: <withheld for privacy reasons>

Character's Age: 16

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Home: Farming community somewhere in the States.

Rank: Student, Janitor

Major: Art of Fighting

Hobbies:

Mangling vegetables, throwing vegetables at people, pestering people, and beating up weak people if he has too much anger he wants to vent. When none of these options are available (a.k.a. in his dorm room), he plays Doom on his laptop computer. (Although he might discover some very much newer games in the future)

Physical Description:

He is a human, and yes, he does look like a human. He has a normal flesh tone colour, and his hair is black with a hardly noticeably streak of dark blue down the left side of his hair. He has a medium build, and is 5'10. Vegetable has a small scar just inside his hairline, and thus is not very noticeable. He generally wears black shirt, black pants, shoes, etc. And sometimes a black cloak for effect.

Personality:

As can be seen by his hobbies, he's generally not a very nice person. He *HATES* nearly all kinds of vegetables, and refuses to eat them. Although he isn't very sociable, he's a very good friend to those who gain his respect. Vegetable also hates his birth name, refusing to be called that. If somebody is insistent on using his real name and bugs him too much about it, he gets very angry and will most likely instigate a fight; even if the other person is obviously stronger. Calling him by his full name pisses him off more than just his first name, although he doesn't mind being called by just his last name.

Background History:

Vegetable Guru was the youngest born into a family of farmers, although his attitude tends toward more toward the technological side of life and thus he didn't exactly like the whole farming idea. Vegetable is very jealous of his brother and two sisters, who were given normal names. The reason he was given such an odd name was because his mom and dad's mind processes were mixed up after a jolt of lightning five months before Vegetable was born; which is also part of the reason he has abnormal powers.

At the age of sixteen, he found out about the existence of YUME and was excited to find out that there was a school he could go to to get away from the farming life. Stealing some of his parents' money, he enrolled in YUME to pursue a new life. Vegetable also decided to take along the family's collapsible scythe, as there was something about acting like Death in a battle that appealed to him. Although the fact he is better with a bit of his self-taught martial arts then a scythe means he's not very good with it.

Strengths:

Speed-Ability to run faster than others, faster movements, can execute fast hitting combos and fast moves

Ki Power-Ability to call upon Ki within to fight more efficiently than others, good or bad Ki calling, sense opponents strengths and weaknesses, meditation, can perform Ki projectiles like Hadoken and such

Weaknesses:

If there are a lot of vegetables in the area, he will set about to destroying some of them even if he's in the middle of a fight; although one good whack will set him back to fighting his opponent as was first planned. Striking him with a vegetable with moderate strength will stun him, even if it doesn't hurt him much. After he recovers his wits, if he is allowed, he'll destroy the vegetable that struck him if he can. Following, he'll simply attack the person who hit him with the vegetable with murderous gusto. Hitting him with a tomato, even if it isn't classified as a vegetable anymore, will create the same effect.

Equipment:

  1. Collapsible Scythe. Simply put, a scythe that can be collapsed into a small stick. The blade retracts inside the staff when not in use.
  2. A laptop computer.

Moves:

  1. Bang: Nearly everybody knows how to make a play-pistol out of their hand. Extend thumb upward and pointer finger forward. Nearly everybody doesn't know how to make it actually shoot something. Vegetable does. Stating the word bang, a small blast of Ki energy will shoot out from his fingertip. Although it is very fast, it is also weak. It is used mostly for disorienting the target.
  2. Nuclear Dawn: Basically the power move for anybody who has more Ki than usual. Vegetable gathers Ki energy for awhile, depending on how much damage he wants to inflict, and sends out a large blast toward the intended target. Whether it hits the target or not, it will create a large explosion. Varying explosion sizes depending on how much energy he puts into it.
  3. Negative Reaction: Basically a desperation move. Vegetable will power up and rush towards his opponent. If he succeeds to hit, Guru will focus all his power on the point where he connects; creating a large explosion that centres mostly on the target. This can (usually) result in one of four things: Vegetable is knocked out and the opponent is very badly hurt, the opponent is knocked out and Vegetable is badly hurt, both are knocked out, or they're both just badly hurt.
  4. Zanzoken: Vegetable seems to disappear for a very brief time and quickly moves to another spot close by. It leaves a silhouette of Okra for a short period of time, causing a blur effect.

[ice_song's note: the background colour used in these profiles indicates rank, the closer to black it is the higher up in the YUME ladder. Sort of like how security clearance level is sometimes colour coded. ^_^;]
