Physical Description:

Charmingly handsome Ruka knows how to use his looks. He has blue hair, which varies in hue depending on the Laws of Anime (or lighting, depending on how you look at it, I suppose). He is tall, around 6', and thin, having suffered from one serious illness or another throughout his life. Physically he is an exact replica of the previous Ruka, except that this time he has managed to survive through his seemingly fatal illness.

Personality:

Ruka has a smiling "Cheshire Cat" personality. He is more quiet than he used to be, but no less clever. No one is quite sure what he is planning, or thinking, or feeling because the image he projects is like that of a Rubix cube. He is neither encouraging nor discouraging of attention from either sex. After what happened with Juri and Shiori he is more cynical and distrustful than he was at Ohtori Academy. At the same time there are moments when he seems totally naïve and caught off-guard. Ruka retains his romantic idealism even when far away from Duels and the Ends of the World. He will do what he likes despite what others may think of him for doing so, which leads many to think he is an arrogant jackass.

Background History:

Ruka was once captain of the fencing team, but was forced into a leave of absence by sickness, leaving Juri as acting captain. Nothing more was heard from him for a long time and many people gradually forgot his existence until one day he re-appeared at Ohtori Academy and defeated Juri to the surprise of all. His appearance caused uneasiness to all as he made his presence known by attending a meeting of the Student Council clad in a Duellist uniform and wearing a rose signet ring on his finger. At first he laughs off the idea of duelling for the Rose Bride, saying that he is still recovering. The drama surrounding him increases as his handsome looks make him the centre of attention around the school. Soon a relationship began to blossom between Tsuchiya and another student, Shiori. Whether or not Ruka actually cared about her is much in question, but whatever the answer was Juri was jealous of her superior. The last thing Ruka said to Juri was to tell her "It will be alright, Juri. Don't worry." The next thing that is known about him is that he passed away. Tsuchiya had suffered for a long time from a fatal illness, but had fought his way out of the hospital in order to give the Power of Miracles to the one he loved. People had heard him say 'I want to free her.'

Once the Rose Bride and Utena disappeared another chance at Revolution had been missed. Thus, the cycle began once more and each of the Duellists was reborn, somewhere. Akio had not achieved his goal...

Now Tsuchiya Ruka has appeared at YUME and what sort of surprises are in store are not known, but he never got to tell Arisugawa Juri how he felt...

Strengths:

1. Weapon Handling - The expertise of Ruka is limited to his fencing sword.
2. Ki Power - It is hard to tell whether Ruka's ability to call forth a sword (i.e. in Utena) is caused by Ki power or psychic, but for now the closest it can be called is Ki.

Weaknesses:

Ruka is still weak from his many sicknesses and is frequently away from class. Thus, he does not always benefit from the lessons taught there. Due to his 'arrogant' attitude Ruka can be prone to defaulting in a battle if he doesn't feel it is worth his while to continue.

Equipment:

1. Fencing foil - Just your average foil and Ruka's weapon of choice. During a duel it is drawn from the body of either himself or his 'Bride'.
2. Rose Signet ring - No one is sure of what powers the ring might hold, but every Duellist wears one.

Moves:

Ruka has no specialty moves, as of yet.
