Physical Description:
Noroke Nozomi is 5'6" with green-blue eyes and long black hair. She always has half of hair pulled back and leaves the rest down. Under her left eye, there's an imprinted green star, an insignia that has been in the family since ancient times, showing that the owner of the star has the capability to use magic. This star glows a bright green whenever Noroke uses magic. Her garments can range anywhere from a kimono to a shirt and a long skirt. She also wears a magical amulet that her mother gave her before she left for YUME, which always seems to bring her help when she is in need.
Personality:
Noroke Nozomi is extremely shy and introverted, but once someone gets to know her, they see her as a kind and considerate person. This trait can make her become very worrisome, especially when it comes to her friends. She's also understanding and can't stay angry with anyone for very long, forgiving them immediately after. However, because of her trust in her friends, she can be easily betrayed. Unmistakably sensitive, she can be hurt easily because of her desire to please everyone. Eager to learn, she spends most of her time reading about anything she finds intriguing. To her friends' disappointment, she can be very studious and may put her studies before anything fun.
Background History:
It was the fact that her whole family was in danger that pushed her into joining YUME, although she hated being away from her parents. Noroke's whole family, including her ancestors, were powerful sorcerers who had defeated many people in magic battles. As a result of this, they had many enemies, evil sorcerers who were after their souls and their power. At Noroke's last home, Osaka, Japan, an avenging sorcerer burst into her school, trying to kill her to end the family bloodline. Noroke narrowly escaped to safety with the help of her older sister Kagayaku. Fearing for her life, Noroke's parents told her to go to YUME and allow herself to be trained in combat. However, Noroke was only fifteen and being too afraid to leave her family, begged her parents to let her stay. After many arguments, her parents agreed but made her promise to go to YUME when she turned sixteen.
During that year, Noroke made a huge effort to study magic to get ready for YUME, and strengthened her powers. Although she was extremely nervous about having to leave her family to go to YUME, she felt obligated to do her best in order to please her family. However, with the attacks from evil sorcerers increasing, her parents were becoming more and more anxious to send Noroke away to YUME so she could learn how to defend herself. In one attack by the avenging sorcerers, Noroke's sister, Kagayaku was greatly injured; this situation made Noroke determined to go to YUME so she could fight for her family.
On her sixteenth birthday, Noroke's mother gave her the family amulet, which was meant to bless the wearer with help whenever it was needed. As Noroke packed the last of her possessions, her father told her that the whole family was going to go into hiding until she returned, to insure the family's safety. Before she headed to the train station, Kagayaku gave Noroke a combat staff, which she carved intricate designs into as she lay bedridden, as a gift to defend herself.
