Out of Character: I apologise for taking so long to reply, but I hope this will help get things back on track before this day, role-playing wise, is complete.

In Character:
Ruka accepted the hand delicately, smoothing back Ulysses' hair with his free hand, so that he could see the younger boy's eyes. "Ulysses, it's as much a pleasure for me to meet you as it is for you to meet me, if not more so. I'll just take a look around before deciding which room will be mine," he said, letting his roommate's hair slip from between his fingers as he stepped away towards one of the rooms.

As he braced himself on the doorframe, looking all around with the eye of someone who knew exactly what they were looking for, he continued talking, hoping that if Ulysses got to know him more he would not be as shy around him…even though that had its own charm and Ruka did not think he could do anything about that, even if he had wanted to. "It was very considerate of you to wait for me,' he said, 'I hope you haven't been waiting very long..."

Ruka strode over to the other room, again supporting himself on the doorframe. He hoped it was not too obvious how tired he was feeling. He did not want Ulysses to find out how weak he was as soon as they met, though the blonde boy just might ask where Ruka had been the previous night.

Actually, now that he thought about it, and he did so as he gave this room the same careful critique, he realised that if Ulysses had not already chosen a room the previous night, he probably had not been there either. A stroke of pure luck, hopefully heralding more of the like.

One might wonder what exactly it was that Ruka was looking for, considering how long it seems he was looking over things. Actually, since he was deciding one specific thing it only took a second or so, but that is beside the point. After seeing the second room he came to a decision. To his eye, Ulysses would look better in the first room and, therefore, he took the second one.

To a normal person, the two rooms would have likely looked identical, but Ruka noticed details. "I think I'll take this one, if you don't mind,' he said, finding the perfect spot to lay his fencing foil, which he had been carrying with him up to that point, in the window ledge of the room he had chosen to be his.

A moment later he was back, having remembered something he had meant to ask, "I was just wondering what your sleeping preferences are like? It might sound odd, but I'm just curious as to whether you're a night person or a day person. I'm a little tired now, but I wouldn't mind getting to know you some other time. I hope you don't think it rude of me to say goodnight after we've just met, but it's been a long day..."

Out of Character: I do not know your character very well and that is why I have not added their dialogue in here (hence why Ruka seems like he's babbling so very much), but feel free to add in anything Ulysses said in response.
