The ground shook as Stormguard approached. The massive mech stomped along at a snail's pace.
"Finally, I'm here." Corey addressed himself as he approached the mecha hangar "You just had to pick your favourite, even if it's slow. If you had've picked any other mech you'd have been here on time." He pulled his long red-brown hair back from his face, then pushed the accelerator bar forward. The mech responded with a groan and quickened it's pace. The hangar did not open when he neared it. Corey discharged the seat restraints that held him in place and opened the rear hatch of Stormguard. He climbed down using the ladder rungs welded to the rear of the mech. He dropped to the ground and pulled out the remote. 'Bup-Bwip' As a joke Corey had used the sound most car alarms make when activated. Stormguard's defenses were no joke, though. The energy shield was activated, ready for an assault.
Corey entered the school and walked along the halls. He located the office simply enough. He approached Iliana and said
"Hi, I'm Corey Torrence. I was hired to be the mecha professor. I'm sorry for my lateness, but you probably heard my arrival. A big machine like that doesn't move very quickly." |
