A visit and then to the room - Ulysses

Ulysses stood in the seawater pool, letting the water lap over him and playing with Killer. His mind was wandering as he replayed the events of the day to the water. It was pointless to explain these things to the water though, since it did not have such a complex array of emotions like other beings of this world. Once he was finished, the water enveloped him and he sank into it, surrounded by its love. Then Killer came over and batted him playfully with her tail. He laughed and chased her around the pool until he was tired. Then, signing that he had to go, he gave her one final fin scratching and left the pool. He changed into his clothes and headed for his room. He entered and realised that his roommate hadn't arrived yet. He shrugged it off and went to where he had set his bags. He pulled out a book and curled up in an armchair to read. He would wait until his roommate arrived before deciding which bedroom was his.
