Returning the favour -Kythra/Yuka

Yuka didn't seem to be paying attention, but the papers she was holding and scribbling on contained her notes thus far on each and every student in the class. She looked up with so little attention, in fact, that it was almost imperceptible. This was, of course, in response to the sound of an explosion.

Luckily for that student it hadn't been an X bomb and his injuries weren't too severe, at least, she didn't think they should be if he'd been careful at all. She waved a hand absently and said, "Medic!" By which she meant that someone should go and get a member of the medical staff. Then, without further ado, she went back to writing notes. She didn't really like teaching class this way and would much rather have been going through the aisles correcting and assisting each student individually, but she needed to get to know them a bit from afar first. There needed to be an established base before one could refine the details.

Kythra scowled as someone else failed to defuse another student's explosive. She was used to working alone where there weren't any distractions. Such incompetence on the part of whoever-that-was was quite irritating.

She scratched one wrist with the opposite hand absently, to bring her focus back to what she was working on. She wasn't expecting this to be difficult, in fact, she could see her way through this...to a certain point.

Another explosion and this time Kythra's head whirled around to face the offending noise, glaring, but not saying anything since there really wasn't anything to be said to someone who was probably lying on the ground unconscious. Surprisingly, at least to those who may have judged Kythra too soon, she didn't lose her concentration, or too much time, for that matter.

As in many cheesy, over-used movies it all came down to one thing...well, actually, two things. Two little wires, which looked innocent enough until one considered what sort of mechanism they might be attached to. On the other hand, the mechanism might look just as innocent, aside from what forces it would set off. Kythra had managed pretty well up to this point, but she wasn't worried about not knowing how to differentiate between which wire.

There were two things one needed when ones profession was "mercenary". One was skill...
...the other was luck.

~~~~~
Yuka looked up again and this time her glance stayed on the class. Another regular explosive, not an X one yet. Some students had finished the task very quickly.
/Oh no.../ she thought to herself, and she would have shook her head too, but she didn't want to give away what she'd thought that in response to.
~~~~~

Kythra made a decision...

...and it was the wrong one.

~~~~~
Yuka put down the papers, fanning away a little dust that had made its way to her desk, and sighed. She'd been right about what had happened. "Kythra! Don't rely too much on intuition!" she said sharply. "Someone run down the hall, meet whoever's coming this way and tell them to hurry!"
Normally, Yuka would have felt sorry for Kythra and the other 'victims', but they must have known that in a fighting class they were going to get hurt.
OOC: Yep, Kythra's also having a bad day, but in a different sense than Andrew or Leena are having. Tisk, tisk, only the second day of school too...^^;
