Leena smiled at Duo as he spun away from another of her attacks and used a sprawling chair as protection. She casually steped aound the chair noticing that they were now in a wide open area (well as wide as you could get in the obsicle course) and she descided to make her move here.
Leena's head was starting to swim a little. Maybe she should have let Terry feed her more. But that was then and it was too late now. Now she had Duo to deal with and knowing how light the spar had been to this point it wouldn't take much to overpower him.
Leena kicked high and planted the sole of her tennis shoe in Duo's chest. Duo staggerd back and Leena punched and kicked to his extremities and saw Duo double over to protect himself, not something you really want to do in a battle scenario. Leena circled around him and gave a small push with her foot to Duo's rear and seeing as he was off ballance, Duo went sprawling onto the floor flat on his face.
Leena knelt down next to Duo. "You have your work cut out for you. most of this class can make mincemeat out of you." She told him.
Duo looked up at her as he rolled into a seated position. "I told you i wasn't very good."
Duo continued to talk as Leena helped him to his feet but she didn't hear him. Her head had started to spin and her mind was reeling. "what the... " she whispered.
Leena stared at nothing as her eyes unfocused and realization came to her. "Tianna." she spoke the single word and bolted for the door barely stoping to grab her appartment key from her bag.
"NO, no , no it can't be" she babbled as she ran flat out toward the residence wing. As she got closer to her temporary home the pain inside her got worse and she started crying knowing that her worse fears were coming true.
"NO! NO Tianna NO! NO!" she cried as she ran down the allway that lead to her door. She nearly fell as she halted her forward momentum to open the door. "NO!!!" she cried frustrated as the key stuck for a moment then she burst into her home and found Tianna collapsed in the living room. Tianna's breathing was shallow and her eyes were glazed.
"Tianna," Leena cried as she sank to the carpet and for the first time in 13 years the tears flowed as if they would never stop and Leena started to rock with the pain and buried her face in Tianna's soft fur. it was frightening how all you know can change in a second. "i can't lose you" Leena whispered cradling her beloved friend. |
