Noroke sat on a bench in the quad near the cafeteria unnoticed by passing students, watching them walk in and out of the lunchroom. She sighed wistfully to herself as she thought about home and her family. She missed them terribly and being in a place where no one knew her or cared that she even exist, did not help her homesickness whatsoever.
"I wonder what Kagayaku-chan is doing right now? And Okaa-san and Otou-san... I hope they're all right," she murmured quietly to herself. "What am I doing here?" She asked herself silently. "What did I do to deserve to be safe while my family has to hide from those assasins..? I should be there with them to take care of Kagayaku-chan." A few stray tears rolled down her cheek as she thought about her bedridden sister back in Japan.
Noroke studied the family amulet she wore, gently brushing her finger against the tiny crystals that surrounded the blue gem. "Okaa-san, I'll study hard and come back home soon... I promise. Then I'll defeat all those evil sorcerers and we can live a normal life once again." With that vow, she opened her book and began to study with an intense concentration.
