Terry walks along with Duo and Leena on either side of him. Duo is being as talkative as usual. Terry notices that Leena seems a little disoriented and reaches out briefly to steady her. She jumps away from his touch and he quickly withdraws his hand, knowing he shouldn't have done that. They continue on in silence. They reach the dorms and Terry lets everyone in. He sets Kurama down on the couch and covers him with a light blanket.
"What would you like for lunch Leena?" he asks.
"Um, soup or a salad or something like that please." Leena requests as she sits in an armchair.
Terry nods.
"Keep an eyeball on Kurama please and let me know if he moves." he requests.
She nods a yes and Terry and Duo enter the kitchen where they make lunch. Twelve minutes later, a thin clam chowder and tuna sandwiches are produced and set on the table. Leena eyes the amount of food.
"Ten sandwiches and five bowls of soup?" she says.
"For Duo." Terry replies. "He packs quick a bit of food in that tiny body of his."
Duo elbows Terry as he munches on a sandwich. Leena slowly eats her soup and gradually looks better. They are almost finished their lunch when Terry glances at the clock on the wall.
"You had better get going soon or you'll be late." he says.
"Do you want me to stay and help?" Duo offers.
"No. I'll be fine. Besides, I don't have an excuse note for you as well." Terry replies.
Duo nods and swallows the last of his second bowl of soup and the last bit of his fifth sandwich. Leena has already finished her soup.
"Shall we go to class Leena?" Duo asks, taking the bowl from her and whisking it away to the kitchen.
"Yes." Leena agrees, avoiding Terry's concerned look.
Terry is satisfied, however, with Leena's pallor and merely smiles at them.
"Have fun in class." he says.
"I'll see you after class." Duo promises as he exits with Leena.
Terry glances over at Kurama, who is still asleep. He gathers up the remaining dishes and puts them away. He returns for the sandwiches when Kurama stirs slightly. Terry immediately picks Kurama up and heads to the bathroom. He just barely reaches the bathroom when Kurama makes a choked groan. Terry holds Kurama over the toilet and the boy proceeds to retch. |
