Someone else raised their hand and as soon as she was called upon said in a shrill voice, "History is HIS story which means it's SEXIST! Sexist, sexist, sexist!"

Yuka raised an eyebrow and twitched. Every year there /had/ to be someone who raised that childish point. She cleared her throat and said in a sugar-coated voice, "I'm afraid, dear, that you're quite wrong. History comes from the Latin word /historia/ which is from Greek, inquiry or knowing, from /histor/ (/istor/ meaning knowing, learned); akin to the Greek /eidenai/ - to know. So, unless you think that only men know things and therefore it's unfair to force women to take history I suggest you rethink whether or not it's sexist." /That ought to shut her up, if not teach her a lesson/ Yuka thought, quickly moving on to the next student. She noted to her pleasure that the other students seemed by now to be quite disgusted with the notion that history could be sexist.

Kythra had her hand up and she was called upon next. "To me history's important because you learn from the mistakes of people who lived and died in the past and keep yourself from meeting the same fate, that is, being killed."

Yuka grinned, "That's a valid point, but I don't think discussing the mummification of Egyptian pharaohs is going to prevent any of you from getting killed off by a modern Egyptian."

"I also agree with braid boy about the stories," Kythra finished, before going back to pretending to find interest in the landscape outside the window, no doubt waiting for the moment class finished and she could go back to training.

OOC: Anyone else in the class please feel free to answer =P Even though Damon, Hikaru and Kenoshu haven't been heard of in an extraordinarily long time (Kenoshu not at all) and Noroke and Trinity are absent. *sweatdrop*
