The medical facilities were in chaos. A few medics had just brought Kurrai in and Fanuihl and Cresta were at their wits' end at what to do with the two psychically attacked people. Bwoshih had entered and the three of them were clustered around Kurrai and Ananda. Chenjing sighed and turned away from the door to face Dear.
"Laiyee!" Chenjing exclaimed in surprise as the angel apeared beside Dear.
Laiyee stood and smiled.
"Hello Chenjing." he said, walking over and giving Chenjing a hug. "I came to help Dear."
"Thank you Laiyee." Chenjing said with a smile. "I've been worried. I don't know what's wrong."
"The energy around YUME is sapping Dear's powers." Laiyee explained. "Dear's powers are unusual but apparently the energy around YUME likes it to some degree."
They approached Dear, who was still sleeping.
"What are you going to do?" Chenjing asked.
"Create a barrier around Dear that will make the energy 'dislike' Dear." Laiyee explained.
He bent over and placed a hand on Dear's forehead. Laiyee closed his eyes and concentrated for a moment. Chenjing watched silently as the silvery glow started from Laiyee's hand and spread around Dear's body. A few seconds later, the glow disappeared and Laiyee removed his hand. Dear's eyes opened.
"Chenjing?"
"Dear! You're okay now." Chenjing said, grabbing Dear's hand. "Laiyee helped you."
Dear turned to Laiyee.
"Laiyee...it's good to see you." Dear said.
"It's good to see you too." Laiyee replied. "I must go now, I'll see you later."
He smiled and disappeared before the other two could protested.
"How do you feel?" Chenjing asked.
"Perfectly normal." Dear replied.
Chenjing smiled.
"Great. Let's get out of here then."
Dear nodded. They left the room and entered the busy ward where everyone was. A medic turned to them.
"Yes?" he asked.
"We're leaving now." Chenjing informed. "My friend is feeling alright now."
The medic frowned.
"You should get Cresta's permission before you leave." he protested.
"She's busy." Dear pointed out softly. "And really, I feel fine."
"Well, alright then." the medic agreed reluctantly. "Just don't come back in five minutes saying you're sick again." he teased.
They smiled at him and left the medical facilities. They made their way down the hallways until they reached their history classroom. They entered to find that the professor and the majority of the students had left. They looked at each other.
"The professor left and dismissed us." came a voice.
They turned to see a redhead sitting next to a green-haired girl.
"He did?" Chenjing repeated.
"Yes."
It was the redhead who had spoken.
