Stulfut looked around. Still no sign. Psychics were a tricky lot. No telling what they could do even with supervision.
"Sergeant!" Aino's voice erupted from his earpiece.
"Yes, kipten?"
"One of the cameras just north of your position went out."
"Gotcha. Refractions and I are on it," Stulfut said, then dashed ahead.
Refractions was close behind as they neared the north side of the school. As they got close, they could feel the familiar scent of outside air.
"Whoever he/she/it is, I think he/she/it is powerful..." Sgt. Stulfut noted the wall which had been basically blown apart, the hole of which lead outside.
The two carefully stepped out with weapons ready, both prepared to move quickly in case of an attack. None came. The two glanced about, but there was no sign of anything out of the ordinary other then the wreckage of the wall.
"Aino, this is Stulfut," the sergeant tapped into the radio again, "There's a hole here where the camera used to be. It looks like the intruder got away. What now?" |
