Duo led Leena down the hallway. The fight was still on full blast so no one noticed the two. They went down a couple of hallways until they reached a room. Duo opened the door and they entered the brightly lit room. All Leena could see were white walls, rows of seats, and a large, domed, white ceiling. She wasn't terribly impressed and it must have showed on her face because Duo chuckled at her.
"Go stand in the middle of the room." he advised.
She gave him a look, but did as instructed.
"I'm going to turn the lights off." he warned ahead of time.
She nodded. He turned the lights off. There was a surprised sound from Leena as the ceiling was lit by hundreds of tiny lights. He joined her in the centre of the room and looked up. The lights represented the stars and constellations of the night sky. It was a dazzling sight and very realistic.
"I found this place yesterday when I was checking out the place." Duo said. "It reminds me of home."
He spun in a circle.
"This room is called the observatory and it's run by the science department. Apparently on good nights the roof opens up and you can see the real stars. Isn't that great?"
He fell silent and just continued to stare at the stars. |
