Deimos entered the room and announced herself to the secretary there.
"Perfect timing." the secretary replied, getting off the phone with the counsellor. "She's available. Go right on in."
Deimos entered the office of the counsellor and found a very beautiful, purple haired woman there.
"Hello Deimos." she said. "I am Nuriko. It's nice to meet you."
"Professor Bak said that she must have an afirmation from you that I will not be disobedient in class before I can return to classes." Deimos said with well contained fury.
Nuriko caught the fury however.
"And you're going to give me your word that you won't be disobedient in class, right?" she said.
"That's right." Deimos replied. "As I told the professor, I won't be disobedient in class."
"Okay." Nuriko accepted.
This made Deimos start visibly.
"Okay?" she repeated.
"Okay. You have my afirmation." Nuriko said.
Deimos peered at Nuriko, suspicion overcoming her fury.
"Just like that?" she said doubtfully.
"I see no reason to think you are lying. I believe you are a person of your word." Nuriko replied.
Deimos was surprised but the expression never actually crossed her face. Then again, expressions rarely crossed her face. She looked at Nuriko, still uncertain.
"You may leave if you like." Nuriko offered. "I will notify Professor Bak of this and you may go to your class tomorrow."
Deimos nodded curtly and started out the door.
"And Deimos." Nuriko said suddenly.
Deimos looked back.
"If any other professor asks for my afirmation, just let me know and I'll let them know." Nuriko said. "And if you'd like to have a chat, just let me know as well."
Deimos stared at Nuriko in disbelief before leaving the room. Nuriko waited a few minutes before calling her secretary.
"Is she gone?" she asked.
"Gone." the secretary replied.
"If she comes back at any time, let me know immediately." Nuriko instructed.
"Yes Miss Nuriko." the secretary assured.
Nuriko hung up the phone and grabbed her bag. She would have a lot of work to do with Deimos before any good would come of her. She started towards the library and was stopped by a man in red who dashed out from a corner suddenly. He gaped in surprise and fell sideways in an effort to stop from running into her. Nuriko reached out a hand and grabbed a handful of shirt. She stopped him in mid-fall and rightened him up easily. He gaped for another second and then affected a charming smile.
"Well if it isn't the cute counsellor." he said in a suave manner.
"Hello Vash." Nuriko replied, having memorised every staff member's name early on.
"Are you headed towards the meeting?" he asked.
"Yes." she replied.
"Allow me to walk you there then, dear lady." he said, offering his arm.
Nuriko took it and the two gracefully walked into the room. The security team tensed as Vash entered. The gradually relaxed as they realised that no one was following Vash. |
