Enjoying the relaxed atmosphere - Maisy

OOC: Just to keep track of what was going on in the mecha class...so it's a little out of synch with the normal chronology here.

IC:
Maisy walked out of the kitchen, holding the tall glass of lemonade she had just made in one hand as she arranged her hair into a ponytail with the other. When she got to her desk she rolled the chair into place and flipped open her laptop, taking a long sip of her beverage before placing it on the desk beside the computer. The condensation on it would probably leave a watermark, but that wasn't really her concern at the moment. Really, this half of the dorm was hers and so, for the duration of the year, she could do what she wanted with it. Actually, this had been her dorm ever since she'd come to YUME. It was nice to have such continuity and everyone knew where he or she could find her, even when a new year started up again. She hooked a pinkie around the thin nose bridge of her glasses and lifted her glasses free of her face, laying them near the lemonade on the desk. By this time the computer had loaded and was prompting her for her password.

After a few hours of getting her administrative duties over with the computer started beeping at her and a small light in a corner of the screen started flashing unobtrusively. It took her a moment to realise what it was before she double clicked on the icon and brought up a small window displaying a surveillance image of the mecha hangar. For a second the picture was fuzzy and distorted, a little blue around the edges like a haze, but then it focused and the forms of the mashins and machines within the building could be seen with more clarity. The icon had been put there to alert her if anyone tampered with either of her mecha or any of the neighbouring ones, but she couldn't see any reason for it to be reacting now. She shrugged, minimized the window and finished off the tart beverage she'd been drinking little by little while she typed.

She looked at her watch; since she'd been interrupted she saw no reason to continue working. Andrew might be a workaholic perfectionist, but she certainly was not and would never be! Besides, she had a spare today and until the teacher of her course arrived. She'd received the notice yesterday and forwarded it to the other students in her class. They'd all met for a moment in the hangar before going their separate ways, just to acknowledge each others place in the campus and so on. A lot of the classes at YUME were smaller than usual this year and apparently some people had dropped out from the previous year, finding the workload a little tough. With a small giggle she wondered how many of them had toiled under the reign of Keele. That tyrant of an English teacher could boast of many, many victims. Unfortunately, Maisy was in his class this year. But that was some other day and right now she had a whole afternoon without classes. Her watch told her that classes were almost over and she wondered how her roommate had done in his class. Then the bell rang to finish the school day and she turned off the computer. Now there was only the small matter of a little math homework and then she was free to do whatever she so desired. Well, almost. There *were* rules, after all, but it wasn't like she wanted to break them anyway.
