"I... I'm sorry," Audrey whispered, "I think I... need to rest..."
It had almost been as bad as a similiar situation two years ago, when her psychic powers had first been unleashed. At least this time, she had been able to hold back enough to not cause somebody's death. But Audrey feared she might be pushed hard enough for it to happen again. Slowly, she pulled away from Iduhlee and sat down on the nearest chair. Audrey didn't trust herself enough to calm the empaths. As she settled into the chair, she realized how drained she was. It took all of Audrey's strength just to keep herself from collapsing on the spot. |
