Bak nodded briefly at the boy's message.
"Thank you." she said curtly.
She had remembered the cameras, but wanted to be prepared in case someone wasn't observing them at the time. Sure enough, Cresta the nurse came running in to the room. She immediately knelt by the bleeding boy and began to examine and treat him. Then a few other medics rushed into the room with a stretcher. They quickly moved him on to the stretcher and hurried out of the room. Cresta turned to the frostbitten boy.
"What happened?" she asked.
"He accidentally touched the ice, Miss Colgate." Bak informed.
Cresta's eyes widened.
"He did?! This isn't good, Miss Bak."
She pulled a heating pack out of her medical kit and wrapped it around the boy's hand. He yelped in pain and tried to remove the sudden heat.
"Don't do that!" Cresta ordered firmly. "That's minus two hundred and twenty-five degrees Celcius of ice that you just touched."
The boy's eyes widened in awe but he allowed himself to be led off without further protest. Bak turned to her class.
"Please continue to fight, and remember what happens when you let yourself get carried away by the battle lust. I do not wish to have this happen again today. I am observing you today. Any battles fought have no purpose. So please continue on."
She watched as the students slowly started, and then turned her eyes to the small girl in the chair. The girl was still glowering. Bak frowned, she should send this girl to the counsellor before this happened again, or keep Cresta nearby at all times. |
