I heard Iliana gasp.
"What is the matter?"
"The camera in the gym picked up the Art of Fighting class. A student was badly hurt." We just had a few cameras in some places for emergencies. I looked and my head lowered. It was dear Rei.
Rei Nokoto is my responsibility. She is not well known, as she is an orphan. After beating up someone in security I came out to see her. She wanted nothing but a challenge to hone her skills. Why I still don't know. But I felt her dark side was overwhelming. I was fearful of the effect she'd have on students, but then I thought it over.
If she fell into the wrong hands, it could be disasterous. And maybe there was a chance I could sway her to calm her dark side, her rage. She needed to find control.
Seems like I've failed so far. My father would have probably said this was a bad idea. I hate not living up to his expectations. But this one I won't give up on.
"Send her up to Nuriko after classes Iliana. Let Bak know of this by the private P.A. system." Iliana looked gravely at my worn out face and complied.
I went back in and hoped I haven't made a mistake. No, I will get to her. Somehow. |
