Snake of the Week
Emerald Tree Boa (Corallus canina)
The emerald tree boa is an arboreal snake, they are a brilliant green color with bands of white.  Thery are nocturnal spending there days draped on branches as shown in the photo above.  They have very large fang like teeth, perfect for grabbing hold of birds, their primary source of food.  They give birth to live young.  The babies are not the bright green at birth.  They are usually reddish orange, sometimes a bluish-green.
