| Pond Water Organisms | ||||||||
| In the Lakewood/Willowlake Retention Pond, we recovered many living water organisms. Unfortunately, the next day it was very difficult to find many complete organisms. Most of what we saw were broken-off pieces of former organisms. We did, however, see many copepods. They are tiny marine or freshwater crustaceans which live among plankton and are an important food source for some fish. They have paddle-shaped (kope) feet (pod), thus their name. | ||||||||
