4. SCHOLARSHIPS

We from FIGHTING FOR THE FUTURE SLATE believe that it is wrong to have someone else control our scholarships. We will change this practice and implement a new system. We will hold an election for any Member who would like to participate in being on the Board for scholarship disbursements. That Board will consist of 10 Members. There will be no more testing of our children to see who gets a scholarship. Instead there will be interviews open to all members looking for a scholarship or help with their children’s future. The reason why is because it will eliminate the possibility of an “average” child not being able to receive a scholarship. Why shouldn’t we be able to help someone go to a trade school or other schools that could help our children with their futures? The only people that will receive scholarships will be MEMBERS’ CHILDREN. With getting rid of wasteful spending we believe that would at least double our current scholarship program. It is time to let your union dues be used for useful things for you and your families.
