Yes, you are not dreaming. Our present Executive Board must have been reading our website again and got some more ideas. Or is it because of the upcoming election? As you can see once again the present Executive Board has dropped the ball! Instead of letting our membership, that consists of about 5500 members, know that there was a rally for Oak Forest they keep it a secret.  I asked myself “why?” Well I believe that they were just trying to make the membership at Oak Forest happy (so they think they will get the votes) by saying it was ok to rally and that they we are supporting you. As you can see from the pictures above, there were about 60 people out for the rally. All of The FIGHTING FOR THE FUTURE SLATE was there and with the members they brought totaling about 20 people. There were only 2 present Executive Board members there, and they brought 3 BA’s and a couple of people. One question for the present Board, if there are 11 members on your Board and only 5 show up what is that telling your membership? 

We would have handled this rally differently. First, we would have let every member in our Local know that Oak Forest needed their help. We would have asked every member to come out and support them. We would have also asked other Locals for their support. Now, let’s say we could’ve had over 500 or more members there. This would have caused a lot of problems for the Management of Oak Forest. There probably would have been a major traffic jam! The townspeople would see the strength and support our members were getting from their Local and membership. Just maybe we could have had the major TV news stations and newspapers out to cover this but instead there were a couple of small town newspapers there. 

We wish the best for our Brother and Sister Members of Oak Forest, but next time you want to run a Rally, call The FIGHTING FOR THE FUTURE SLATE and we will help you get your message out to the rest of the membership!
