I’m Vince Tenuto from The Fighting for the Future Slate. I want to let you know that The Fighting for the Future Slate, The Members Only Slate and The Every Teamster Counts Slate banned together as one and stopped the City of Chicago contract from being ratified on September 20, 2007. There were 560 no votes and 519 yes votes for a total of 1079 votes. This is more than ½ of the membership coming out to vote. The no votes would have been greater if not for the lies and deception of the Current Executive Board of Local 726. They lied to the members by saying that if they didn’t vote “yes” that they would have to strike. This is a lie. We are not far away from signing this contract. There are only a few issues that need to be dealt with. The Secretary Treasurer of Local 726 has agreed to meet with Joe Vercillo and myself. We, the rank and file members, want to get this contract finalized but the union needs to work with us. If you want any more information please call me or email me at [email protected].
