kanda a plant that is grown in the desert regions of gor its roots are very toxic even poisonous, but the oeaves can be rolled and formed into stringsd which are chewed or sucked to produce a stimulant effect. Willow Bark When soaked in hot water and made into a tea, it often acts as a good alternative pain management and is non addictive. Bazi tea has a similiar effect
Tessa Is a powder when sprinkled onto a wound provides a numbing effect. This will allow a Healer to stitch.Tessa can render unconciousness if mixed with red ka-la-na, it is tasteless
Plaintion Leaves This is found growing wild, It draws out infection, halts bleeding and eases burns
Lavenia Flowers Blossoms are used in hot water to relieve headache and discomfort
Capture Scent An anesthetic widely employed to render its victims unconscious. A rag soaked with it is held over the mouth and nose or shot into the victim as an anesthetic dart. Book 9: Marauders of Gor, pages 115 and 116. Similar to an Urth chloraphorm soaked on a rag and placed to the face it can disable up to 40 ihn.
Marigold A natural antibotic. It can be ground and used in healing salves, boiled to oils and used to irrigate high risk wounds to prevent infection, it can also be ground and added to food for the same effect
Anti Serum Given to those bit by sleen to counteract their poisons.
Sip Root Used in the creation of slavewyne to prevent conception
Wild Yam Often given to pregnant women to prevent cramping and bleeding during pregnancy
Brak Bush A shrub whose leaves have a purgative effect when chewed, traditionally branches of it are nailed to house door during the Waiting Hand to discourage the entry of bad luck into the house for the New Year. Book 5: Assassin of Gor, page 211.
Breeding Wine known as the second wine is used to counteract the effect of slave wine when a girl is given breeding wine she knows she will soon be hooded and bound for breeding.
Frobicain A sedative injection used during Voyages of Acquistion to render a captured barbarian unconscious. Book 5: Assassin of Gor, page 21
Poison The use of poison of Gor is generally considered not worth of men. It is against the
Code of Warriors. It is thought of as a weapon of women. Book 9: Marauders of Gor, page 18.
Slave Wine A black, bitter beverage that acts as a contraceptive, its effect are instantaneous and its effects last for a long period of time but it tends to be given anually most just as tradition, can be counter-acted with another sweet-tasting beverage (see breeding wine) Book 9: Marauders of Gor, pages 23 and 83 - 84; Book 22: Dancer of Gor, page 174}
Stabilization Serums A series of medical injections which, among other things, retards the aging process. An invention of the Priest-Kings, approved by them for use by humans,administered in 4 injections. Medications Bottle of antiseptic (paga can be used is you have nothing else) Salve used for antibiotic effect Blue grass powder for sprinkling on wound to numb the pain and give comfort Willow bark for pain killer and fever tea

Tubing for chest tube or tracheotomy Trocar (like ice pick), to open punctured lung
Pre-threaded needles: curved and straight with dissolvable gut Clean rep cloths
Rolled bandages of rep cloth Tape or small clips for securing bandages
Basic Healing
*Assist patient to the furs or if unable to move Tthem, treat where Tthey are, but make sure area is as clean as possible, but don't waste time cleaning when the patient lies in pain waiting
*If you do not know or can not see visably, ask what wounds need tending
*Remove clothing as necessary. cover with soft fur (being careful to protect a Mistresses' modesty
*Offer willow tea for pain or if severe offer kanda (make sure you explain that its sucked and chewed, never swallowed as it can be poisonous) or sprinkle blue grass powder over wound
*Bathe open wounds with antiseptic paga then either stitch if needed or apply salve and cover with bandages if needed
*If blades remain in the wound, use a cloth or pliers from the med kit to pull it free, inspect the wound afterwards for bleeding and fragments. Use the tweezers (after dipping them in paga o
antiseptic) if needed to remove any fragments in the wound.
*Apply pressure to the wound with a rep cloth to slow the bleeding
*Stitch as necessary (making sure each stitch is individually knotted to prevent puckering of the wound)
*If there is bruising or muscle strain. massage with ointment and offer ice pack
Burns are treated with salve and dressed only if deep
Broken bones - to be sure to set by jerking then run finger along the bone to be sure is straight, and apply a splint so can not move for a few days

Choking - get behind the patient and reach around with both hands at abdomen, quickly jerk back and up in diaphram. This will force lots of air out and make the patient to cough out stuck object (if not see Tracheotomy)
Bleeding - If there is any active bleeding from torn or cut veins take a cauterizing iron from the Healers Med Kit (kept in the servery) and lay it over the bleeding vessel to sear it shut, if artery is what is bleeding (spurting blood out) then that must be carefully stitched back together first with a fine curved needle and fine gut suture
Stitching - use small fine even stitches try not to pucker the skin (do this by tying off each stitch with a knot to stop the puckering Wounds that require stitching need to be bandaged. Apply a thick layer of clean rep cloth and wrap with rep cloth bandages Change bandages daily
Stitches are to remain dry - healing will occur in half the time
Do not attempt any major healing that you have not been trained for, if uncertain call someOone more qualified or send for a Healer if there is not one with you already. All slaves will be trained in the basic elements of healing
