County Zoo Issues Public Advisory
Covered by Billy Bob Thorton, Zoo Relations Department
A notice has been issued to the residents of Viera, Suntree, and Northern
Melbourne that three large twelve to fifteen foot alligators have recently
disappeared from the Zoo. These Alligators have been raised from the hatchling
stage and are use to man, this will make them extremely dangerous and
violent.
If you notice that small animals in your neighborhood are suddenly missing
DO
NOT INVESTIGATE, call local animal control immediately stay inside your
home and
make sure all animal entrances are sealed. Alligators have been know to
crawl
through doggie doors to get there prey.
The Zoo is very sorry for this mistake and will be looking into how this
happened.
As a public apology to the citizens of the affected areas they are having
a free
weekend at the zoo on September 27 and 28 for those with proof of residency.
Again this is just a warning, we believe that the alligators will be
found
before anything happens to cause a problem.
