Rural West Melbourne was the scene of a drive-by shooting this past Saturday.
WMPD received a 911-emergency call shortly after 7:30. A large amount of
gunfire could be heard in the background. Once the gunfire was finished a few
minutes passed before operators heard a man shouting, "man down" in a French
accent.

When police arrived on the scene they found a man who had been shot, in the
woods just off the road. The strange part about this aspect of the crime is
that this man had been bandaged up. The wounded man was taken to the Florida
Tech Health Sciences Center before being transferred to a private hospital.

WMRP and police continue to look for the people responsible for the shooting.
