Ford Aerostar, Hit and Run

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. - Police this morning will go door-to-door in the
Brandywine neighborhood where Marie Sumner was killed Tuesday in hopes of
finding her killer.

Florida Highway Patrol Cpl. Channing Taylor said there are about 500 to 1,000
homes in the neighborhood near Pennsylvania Street, west of Interstate 95

"We'll knock on every door," he said.

Sumner was killed about 9:30 p.m. as she was walking her dog. She spoke with a
neighbor moments before the fatal accident, but that neighbor didn't see
anything, said Troy Borema, the victim's son-in-law.

"Someone had to have seen something," Borema said. "It's very important that we
catch this (driver). Our energies are set on catching this (driver)."

Car parts left behind at the crash site have been linked to a Ford Aerostar,
said Florida Highway Patrol Cpl. Chuck Jones.

"That's what we're searching for," he said. "We've gotten a list of all
registered owners of Aerostars living in Brevard County and we will interview
every one of them if we have to."

Police say the minivan is damaged on the right side including the turn signal,
fender, hood and possibly the windshield. They urge anyone who sees a smashed
Aerostar to call police at (321) 690-3902.
