Jill Valentine, one of the survivors from the accident at the mansion, is sitting in her apartment. She has waited too long. She is the only one left, the others have all departed to Europe to continue the fight against Umbrella. But now, the virus has spread to Raccoon City, and she must face the same horrors again. But this time she is at least prepared for what to come.
Outside of the apartment, figures moves in the shadows. Once human, now nothing more than dead flesh wandering the streets, they all smell the scent of living blood. Jill is outnumbered but manages to break into a restaurant, where she meets Brad Vickers, the pilot from S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team. He is scared to death by some beastly "monster" and runs away in panic. She loses his trail when trying to follow him but decides to go to the policestation. The road towards her goal is riddled with the living dead but she is armed and ready for combat. Not too soon she stands before the complex that is Raccoon City Police Department. But before she has time to enter Brad shows up again, followed by a humongously big thing who rapidly kills him. The corpse of Vickers is thrown to the ground when the thing moves to strike at Jill, whispering the sole word - S.T.A.R.S. - but she dodges her way through the doors of the policestation into to temporarily safety. But there is not much to pleese the eyes inside. The abandoned station with the vast entrance is more scary than comforting, so the decision to just get the hell out of town is not hard to make. Not so far from the policestation she finds a man working for U.B.C.S. (Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service). The man, Carlos Oliveira, seems like a nice guy and Jill soon realize that he�s not knowing what Umbrella really stands for. Teaming up with him she starts her mission, to get alive out of Raccoon City, with as many survivors as possible.
But will she make it with that monster at her heels?
