Gotenks is Goten and Trunks fusioned together. The fusion dance in which they have to do to become Gotenks has to be perfect or they don't get the results they wanted. For example, the first times they did the fusion dance, they turned into a skinny Gotenks and a fat Gotenks, but eventually they work it out and get the right result. Gotenks is a very egotistic person, he believes he is better than Majin Buu, the enemy that they had to fusion together to fight in the first place. Because Gotenks thought he was stronger than Buu, he decided to play it easy and pretend that he was no match for him. This caused Piccolo to resort to the last option of locking Buu, Gotenks, and himself in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, a training facility where a day inside is only a minute out in the real world. Buu managed to tear open a portal and get outside the chamber, and eventually so did Gotenks and Piccolo. Goku thought that he was capable of defeating Buu, but since he played around at the beginning instead of destroying Buu, he ended up getting absorbed and making Buu stronger. |
