In Andrew's words, the song "was written while we were on tour with Newfound Glory in Amsterdam and had a wild evening, that's the only way to describe it. After leaving Amsterdam makes me miss home, that song was about the idea of being far from home and missing it." He refers to his girlfriend as his "Miss America," which gives the song its title.
