This song is about Josh's frustration with his girfriend. He expresses that, even though she tries to be a good girlfriend she "makes him shake." He also dreads the time when she is awake and "counts the hours" til she does. Josh seems to be using this song to break up with her. Ouch!

To me, this is a love song. "Shake down, you make me break, for goodness sake I think I'm on the edge of something new with you" is saying: your smile kills me and I think we're close to something. "You'll never scream so loud as I want to scream with you" is saying: I want to be around you and with you. I think the whole "Hurricane" metaphor is don't say something to hurt you and act like you don't know why they said that, because you should. "So dont say 'these currents are still killing me' and you can't explain how the wind went and pulled you into the hurricane." "The world moves faster than I knew but not fast enough to not creep up on you and the space you put between" is saying: you're putting space between us but I know we can get through it, so come closer. It's ok. "Because the sunburns what I needed" is saying: I need you to tell me whats wrong so we can work it all out. "This time I know nothings wrong..."

I also think that this is a love song. The girl does stuff Josh just loves, and the main part that stuck out to me was "so pull me under your weather patterns, your cold fronts and the rain dont matter, cause the sun burns what I needed." I think he's saying or telling her that even if she's pissed off or in a bad mood, he's gonna be there and he can put up with her, because when she is herself, she's everything he ever wanted. She could be a very random girl that's hard to figure out and she may be really confusing, yet he's still so in love with her.
