DishDiva says: Hey guys, welcome! Great to see you!
Something_Corporate says: Hello! We're talking to you from the Jimmy Kimmel show right now. We're just hanging out backstage right now.
DishDiva says: There are so many fans here especially your Street Team!
Something_Corporate says: Thank you, it's the first day of the record coming out and we want to thank everyone on our Street Team for putting in so much work. We have the BEST Street Team.
littlekleetus in Onstage1 asks: Who wrote "Space" and why?
Something_Corporate says: WE LOVE YOUR NAME! (laughs) Zoolander is the best!! (Josh): I wrote it and I was venting frustration from having a life of relationships that I didn't get to develop on the road and feeling alienated because I'm not used to being around people.
pianorockkid in Onstage1 asks: Andrew, what inspired you to write "Me and the Moon"?
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: Truthfully, I'm not really sure. I was in a weird dark mood and was living in Temecula with a band member from New Found Glory and spent a lot of time by myself and started writing the first part of the song. The first words out of my mouth were,
Something_Corporate says: "It's a good year for a murder" and I didn't know how to follow that up so I just tried a suburban homicide and was disenchanted with her marriage and ends up killing her husband.
Rowwdy4 in Onstage1 asks: on "she paints me blue" special reference is made to "kelly" who is that?
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: My girlfriend.
AOneSauce3 in Onstage1 asks: What is the band's favorite song to perform? Amy and Schen from PA
Something_Corporate says: Right now because of our new record "Only Ashes."
SharpieSpoil in Onstage1 asks: Was the process of creating North any different than past experiences in the studio? Spokane is great, you should come here! -Kaylynne
Something_Corporate says: William: We all decided to go up to Seattle and sequester ourselves in this incredible house, it was a cool vibey place looking over Puget Sound and it created a cohesive sound.
Something_Corporate says: The last record was recorded over many years and this record is more of a reflection of who we are today.
EchoInEmptiness in Onstage1 asks: What's the meaning behind "miss america"? its a beautiful song..one of my favorites. is it about being alone?
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: Yeah, it was written while we were on tour with Newfound Glory in Amsterdam and had a wild evening, that's the only way to describe it. After leaving Amsterdam makes me miss home, that song was about the idea of being far from home and missing it.
DishDiva says: Amsterdam, wild? No! Really?
Something_Corporate says: And you have this catharsis, do you want to be home or do you want to be in this crazy place where we were like Amsterdam.
sugrnspiceosu in Onstage1 asks: SoCo, you guys rocked out in Columbus, Ohio and my question for all of you is this, if you weren't in Something Corporate what would you be doing right now?
Something_Corporate says: Brian: Begging Something Corporate to let me in the band.
Something_Corporate says: Clutch: I'd be following Brian around begging as well. In fact that's what I did before we got signed. (laughs) When we were in college I didn't go to school, I just followed Brian around to his classes.
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: I would be playing professionally somewhere somehow.
Something_Corporate says: Josh: I would be Arnold Schwarreneggar's campaign manager.
Something_Corporate says: William: I would be pursueing music as well.
rdhotjillypepper_MegElke in Onstage1 asks: What's your favorite thing to do? Record, Perform, or make media apperances? -Jill-
Something_Corporate says: I think we all have different opinions on that. Media appearances go last on that list, except of this of course. Brian loves recording, William loves to play every night and we all like being out every night and seeing people react to it. Josh says he loves recording performances. (laughs)
IfYouSeeSoco1027x in Onstage1 asks: What types of music do you listen to when you aren't busy performing?
Something_Corporate says: William: I listen to classic rock like Beatles, Stones, Zepplin, stuff like that.
Something_Corporate says: Josh: I listen to hard rock. I just bought the entire Helmet Catalog yesterday and it's great.
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, Lucinda Williams.
Something_Corporate says: Clutch: RX Bandits "The Resignation", I just bought Rush "2112" and was rocking Exit Stage Left, it was an amazing album.
Something_Corporate says: Brian: I have been listening to this band called The Shore and they're really really great. And also Steel Train.
NatAnn9785 in Onstage1 asks: Do you think you guys are still pretty down to earth or have you gotten swept up in the life of a rock star?
DishDiva says: These guys are great.
Something_Corporate says: Brian: I would say speaking, not for myself, but for the band, I think our band is down to earth. We would have to be rockstars first. (laughs) I think we're down to earth and we get that comment a lot after shows.
MusikChik421 in Onstage1 asks: How do you guys keep yourselves from being home sick?
Something_Corporate says: Brian: We don't. I definitely think we feel we're a family while we're on the road and there's a camaraderie that feels like family while we're on the road.
DishDiva says: Do you bring anything from home to remind you of home?
Something_Corporate says: William brings his pillow and comforter which gets in everyone's way, Brian brings his skateboard and gets in everybody's way too, Clutch brings his bad attitude along with him.
Something_Corporate says: Clutch: My pissed off attitude. (laughs)
Something_Corporate says: And that gets in the way too.
Lmk222 in Onstage1 asks: Are all your songs deep and meaningful to some experience in your lives, or are they sometimes just random songs that worked out well?
Something_Corporate says: There are occasion a random story like "Me and The Moon" and that doesn't apply but usually I try to apply a meaning that hits home. This record in particular is very personal.
NotYourStar1111 in Onstage5 asks: Would you say that Konstantine is your most meaningful song? Its absolutely beautiful... Allie - CO
Something_Corporate says: No, it's a meaningful song and when I wrote it it was meaningful to me but it's not our most meaningful song. To our fans it means the most because there's a strange fascination with that song and that's great.
sugrnspiceosu in Onstage1 asks: Where would be your dream place to have a concert at?
Something_Corporate says: Clutch: The Staple Center.
Something_Corporate says: The band is feeling Red Rock and The Gorge in Washington. We would love to headline at The Gorge.
SLOTHlovesCHUNK1 in Onstage1 asks: If you guy could collaborate with any musician, dead or alive, who would it be? Much love, Jackie...Boston
Something_Corporate says: William: Elvis
Something_Corporate says: Josh: Brain Wilson.
Something_Corporate says: Brian: David Bowie.
Something_Corporate says: Clutch: Roger Waters.
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: I'm going to go out on a limb and say Sam Cook, I love Sam Cook, he's an old R&B singer but he sang the raddest songs ever.
Devo2234 in Onstage1 asks: What song do you think is the hardest to play that you've wrote?
Something_Corporate says: I think when actually start playing "She Paints Me Blue" it will be difficult. Brian: The drums on "Me and The Moon" are really tough.
SweetJuicyFroot in Onstage5 asks: So far in your career, what has been the most exciting thing you have been able to do?
Something_Corporate says: Brian: Meet Lorena Bobbitt.
Something_Corporate says: William: This MSN Chat.
Something_Corporate says: William isn't being facetious.
Something_Corporate says: Will and Brian loved Loveline.
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: I think recording with Paul Buckmaster because he's such a brilliant musician, he's won Grammy awards and worked with great artists and that was the most meaningful to me.
DishDiva says: From all of your answers it seems that you are very oriented to the classics. . .
Something_Corporate says: Clutch: Hell yes. This chat is wicked rad, it's awesome. (laughs)
xxcrackthesky in Onstage1 asks: I saw you a couple weeks ago in lowell and you put on the best live show ive ever seen, congrats on North...Red Sox or Yankees?
DishDiva says: Whoah! A riot is breaking out here among the band!
Something_Corporate says: Josh: I'm the one who really cares, I'm all about the Yankees, these guys are pozers. Andrew: I'm not into sports, and it would appear that a few weeks ago that no one cared about baseball other than Josh, and Red Sox came from wanting to beat the Yankees.
RockDreamer109 in Onstage1 asks: North has a more matured sound than Leaving Through The Window, how do you guys feel you've changed, personally or as a band, between the two albums?
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: Between the two records, "Between Two Windows" was from years ago, we were in high school and I think that has something to do with why the record sound mature and these experiences we're writing about are all new.
Something_Corporate says: Clutch: I'm starting to get the senior discounts at Sears.
crystaltine1 in Onstage1 asks: If you guys could pick any song in the whole wide world to cover, tell me what it would be?
Something_Corporate says: William: This question makes us think of Bohemian Rhapsody but that would be sacreligious. You don't want to mess with the classics because they are all so good we want to leave them.
Something_Corporate says: Brian said "The Angel Aquarius" where we all corrected him, it's "Age of Aquarius." (Laughs)
Ilovesoco in Onstage1 asks: Can you remeber your first really big crowd at a concert and what did you feel? love Gaelan NJ
Something_Corporate says: (laughs)
Something_Corporate says: The first show that we sold out at The House of Blues was the first time we all thought we were good in our band. Espcially Clutch. (laughs)
WhenItGoesDown in Onstage5 asks: I've been a big fan of yours for several years now and I'm still in awe of your greatness. Any big plans for the future?
Something_Corporate says: Andrew: I think for us, we don't do much projecting to the future, not to say we don't hope that we do well, we just want to continue to concentrate on being a good band and hopefully that will make us a good band at the end of a day.
socoaimee189 in Onstage4 asks: Andrew said on stage once they would make a T-shirt that say "Something Corporate: Making Music For Parents Everywhere"....I'm still waiting for that Tshirt (laughs) - Aimee
Something_Corporate says: We're working on it! We've had so many designs of that shirt, it's just not right yet.
DishDiva says: Check out their website for more updates!!
DishDiva says: And we'll you guys tonight on "The Jimmy Kimmel Show"?
Something_Corporate says: Yes.
DishDiva says: From all of your fans from around the world and from all of us here on MSN Live, thanks for being our guest today on MSN Live!
Something_Corporate says: Thanks for showing up to the MSN chat, we appreciate it. 1
