Bio: Born on the night of September 24th during a raging thunderstorm, she was a beautiful, healthy baby, registered in the records as only Cassandra Elizabeth Miller, who was immediately tossed into the hands of a drunken merchant to be taken to the local orphanage. On the outside it looked like a warm, welcoming place for orphaned children to be lovingly nurtured until they were taken in by somebody, but in truth it was an ugly, sorted place. Hell would have been better. All the children, from the age of 3 and up, were taught to work to earn their keep. The older children taught the younger children, as well as protected the younger children as best they could from the sick individuals who were allowed to come and visit.Cassie always daydreamed, holding hope inside her that one day her Mama and Papa, who she thought must have never wanted to give her away, would come for her. She worked day and night, and as she got older looked out for the younger children. Except she knew her day was coming. When all children turned thirteen they were given a bag of coins, the clothes they wore, and put out onto the street to fend for themselves or they could go to the Magnolia House-which Cassie knew was not an option for her as it was basically a brothel. Avoiding beatings and the men were not easy, and only a month before she was due to leave she got cornered in the downstairs salon while she was cleaning it. As if to remind her, she has a scar on her back now, a reminder that she was not so pure or innocent, and Cassie knew what she would do when she left the orphanage. With her blue eyes, chocolate brown hair, exotic face, and curvaceous body she would attract many men. At thirteen, she left, alone and frightened, yet with the will to survive. Her hopes were shattered and she no longer daydreamed, she was firmly ensconced in reality-one could not live off fantasies. Her first goal was to find a wealthy man, somebody to be her protector, who would accept her as a mistress when she turned sixteen years of age. The man she found was Stephen Jamison, the heir to a chain of clothier shops, and their agreement was struck. Feeling as if her life were stable she let herself relax at school, none knowing whom she really was, for they all knew her as Alycia Desmonde, ward of Stephen Jamison. By the time she left school at sixteen she had made many friends and was cultured, intelligent, and lady-like, and she had blossomed into a woman of rare beauty. After her first evening with Stephen her life changed. She accompanied him to parties and earned a certain level of notoriety, for all men wanted her upon seeing her. Stephen died only months later during a duel over a noblewoman, leaving Cassie alone in the world, but this time she was able to find her next protector. This was how she lived, finding a man to protect and care for her in exchange for being his mistress. She made sure that she was never with a man for longer than six months and by the time she had been with her 5th wealthy man, she was rich and able to pay for her own home. From then on it became a matter of whether or not she wanted more money, or needed something. Cassie went on, always fighting the little voice that told her to find out the name of her Mother and Father, and up until six months ago she was able to. Twenty-two, living with this great burden of curiosity, she went back to the orphanage and bullied the manager into telling her. The woman passed over Cassie's file and with that in hand, she returned home, only to be shocked into silence: She was the bastard daughter of Anastacia Aesier and an unknown high-class merchant. With this knowledge, and a nerve unknown to her, she decided to go see the Aesiers, wanting to see the family she had been excluded from, under the guise of needing employment as a servant. Easily she was able to suggest the names of nobles that she had worked for, though she had never done such menial labor. The Head of the family, Colin, was the man she talked to and Cassie felt fidgety during the whole visit. When she was leaving, thinking that she had gotten away without being exposed, her birth and true profession remaining a secret, when she spotted the portrait of Anastacia Aesier. Cassie looked so much like her that it was immediately noticed by Colin, forcing the truth from her lips. Instead of being denounced or thrown out, Colin accepted her, though he did not much trust her nor was he close to her. He barely spoke to her as a matter of fact. Yet, Cassie had found her place, claimed by the Aesiers. She refused to completely give up her old life though and still is mistress to many men, bringing scandal wherever she goes and possibly causing a further rift with her 'family'.
