| Devils From the depths of the blackest Hell, emerged the beasts of darkness in a swell; Satan's children doth arise, the greatest of evil, painting blood within the sunrise... The first and foremost ranking within the Demonic Hierarchy belongs to the 'Devil' sect, a sect composed of some of the most powerful demon species in known existance. Members of the Devil sect have surpassedknown powers and abilities that apply to other sects, and have achieved a state of 'godliness' amongst the hierarchy that earns them the title of 'Devil'; based upon the ancient human religion that dubbed all-powerful demons as 'Devils'. Demons within the 'Devil' ranking are well-known and respected by the other sects within the Demonic Hierarchy and are often rulers of the Demonic Society which can consist of a Prince and his Generals. *Known species within the Devil sect are the Saenu and Daemon demons.* Saenu Saenu demons are dimensional/psychic demons that evolved to look almost exactly like humans, making the species perfect chameleons that can easily blend into human society. Saenu demons are born with the talent to bend and manipulate dimensions at will, as well as perform all sorts of dimensional magic which makes fighting or even killing a Saenu demon incredibly hard. Coupled with their psychic abilities: telepathy, telekinesis, etc... Saenu demons are a force to be dealt with. Elder members of the species were even said to have been able to control time itself upon mastering their inborn dimensional skills, but this information is still nothing more than a rumor since the Saenu no longer exist, and the theory is unable to be proven. Several Saenu also have varied abilities besides their natural-born dimensional and psychic skills, in fact some Saenu have mastered control over one elemental magic, and some even possess the ability to summon. Daemon The second, and only other known surviving species within the Devil sect; the Daemon species now holds the only position within the Devil sect due to the extinction of the Saenu. Relatively little to nothing is known of this species of demon though, and even today their existance is still shrouded in mystery. Other demons also seem to rarely speak of this species, whether it is out of respect or their lack of knowledge also, is unknown. But from what other races have gathered, the Daemon demons are the most powerful demons to exist today, and are even said to be able to kill a man with but a glare and cause whole empires and armies to fall to their knees. Daemon demons are said to be truly worthy of the title 'Devils', since in legend Daemon and Saenu demons were said to have defeated the 'angels' in the 'Holy Wars' back in the time of the Dark Father. The Daemon species remains vastly hidden, at least from the prying eyes of man and other non-demonic races, but even then, it is rare for a Daemon demon to come forth even before it's own brethren. But they hold an ironclad grip upon the Demonic Hierarchy, and keep order amongst the sects, as well as serve as leaders of the Demonic 'Empire'. Though little is known of them, the Daemon demons are to be feared, after all, doesn't one always fear whatis unknown? Imperial Demons A tear doth fell, amidst the sea of sorrow; weaver of evil, shall there be a tomorrow? The second most powerful, and one of the most feared sects within the Demonic Hierarchy, the Imperial Demon sect consists of some of the Demon World's fiercest warriors. Little seems to seperate this sect of demons from the Devil sect, and most Devil sect species have arisen from the Imperial Demon rank; which is far more populus than the Devil sect. This only leaves fear in the hearts of mortals who know the true power of the sect, and how the next generation of 'Devils' may be birthed from it's ranks to further terrorize the world. The Imperial Demon sect is not to be taken lightly, since the sheer power of the rank has made most members of the sect near-unstoppable in battle and the most blood-thirsty monsters alive. Imperial Demon species often serve as 'Generals' within the Demonic Hierarchy/Society. Imperial Demons (the namesake of the rank) The species that is the original namesake of the Imperial Demon sect, these monsters are from what nightmares are born. The Imperial Demon is both a land and aerial species, and one of the bigger members within the Demonic Hierarchy(the species can grow to the size of a dragon). A raging Imperial Demon is something to be feared, since one can easily destroy an entire army (especially if they are under estimated) during one of the species' legendary frenzies. This species is especially well-known for it's incredible strength and stamina, and the only thing more well-known than this feature being the species' brutality in battle. They often resemble the demons from legend, and some believe that this species is what originally gave the 'traditional' demon idea to the other races. Rezeck Members of the Rezeck species are some of the fiercest demons ever to exist, and the members of the clan clearly show this trait in battle. No one has ever lived to tell the tale of surviving a Rezeck demon's attack, nor does it look like anyone ever will. The species Rezeck is even feared at times by other demons, since sometimes Rezeck demons are known to go berserk in battle, attacking both friend and foe in their bloodlust. This quality has earned the species the nicknames 'Dementia Demons',the 'Mad Ones', and 'Bloodlust Demons' by both other races and other demon species. Rezeck demons are extremely loyal to their causes and are known to battle to the death rather than to flee or surrender. Loki Loki demons represent the irony within the Dark Father's initial fall from grace, bearing divine human forms that make them appear angelic, with hideous bat-like wings. The Loki species were originally said to have been angels and the original children of the 'Fallen', or the Dark Father's followers; and their soul existance seems to be a mockery of all that is good and pure within the world. Loki demons possess an unearthly beauty within their human/angelic appearances, save for their hideous, bloody, torn wings, tattered remains of the original 'Fallen's' angel wings of beauty. But while the Loki possess beauty for the most part in their appearance, their personalities are some of the blackest within the Demonic Hierarchy; they are bitter, angry creatures, and long for revenge against those that damned their creators, and those favored by the 'Divine Powers'. Loki demons thirst for revenge, and such hatred that they are said to even brutally butcher the most innocent of bystanders, if it vents their rage and gets them what they want. Sub-species-Fallen Angel, Anu Beezlebub Pestilince, decay, and rot, fall over a grievious land, barren, sand-blasted, crumbling into dust... The third ranking within the Demonic Hierarchy, Sect Beezlebub represents the combination and balance of demonic powers, and it's ferocity at it's best. Sect Beezlebub has been known to also birth the most horrifying of demons, in both appearance and attitude, and demons that could simply be called flat-out monsters. Beezlebub demons are also well-known for their love for chaos, destruction, and death, and their seemingly obsession over it. Where ever there is chaos, you are almost certain to find a Beezlebub demon within it's wake, reveling within the destruction and even going as far as to create it's own means of destruction. Certain species within the sect have even been known to influence wars being fought by other races. Demarial A horrifying being born from the fall of darkness during the apocalypse. The Demarial, though only as large as an eagle, is often one of the most feared beings ever to exist. Often called the 'Omen of Death', due not only to it's nightmarish looks, but also to it's presence right before death. The Demarial is viewed as one of the 'purest' forms of evil ever to grace the face of the planet; seeing as in appearance it has: six bat-like wings (the number of evil), an almost complete skeletal body, with the skull of a human child, crowned with two curved horns protruding from the top of the skull, and taloned feet. Carnivorous by nature, the Demarial is also said to feed upon the souls of the dead. It is also rumored to be able to see the future and sometimes speak with mortals. The Demarial is well-respected within Demon Society, since it possess a wisdom that has all but been lost to other species, which only seems to be further enhanced by it's gift of foresight. Many demons have been known to seek out the guidance of the Demarial species, which in it's own right are extremely rare to find; and a knowledgeable demon knows better than to dismiss a Demarial's predictions. For a Demarial will only appear to another demon if it feels it is of the utmost of importance. It is also known as the 'Demonic Seer'. Necrozukimo Nothing is feared more by man and beast than death, and the Necrozukimo breed takes advantage of this instinctive fear. The Necrozukimo species specialize in the 'arts' of death, and are so obsessed with it, there really is no wonder why some members of the species went totally mad. Necrozukimo demons mainly specialize within the magics of necromancy, (which really isn't of any surprise) and are masters of the art of raising and manipulating the dead. Though the species prefers to have their undead minions to do their bidding and the majority of their fighting, the Necrozukimo demons aren't afraid to get directly involved in a battle; unlike their other magically tied kin, Necrozukimo demons don't rely totally on magic alone, but are able warriors themselves. Necrozukimo demons are mostly nocturnal creatures (though some will venture out during the day), that dwell mainly within the hinterlands and areas relatively untouched by other races, where they can practice their necromancy. Necrozukimo demons also bear a resemblance to the undead which they so love to raise and control; their own bodies usually tattered and riddled with decay, making them appear as rotting corpses. Their looks alone are something to fear, much less their dark magic. It seems that the Necrozukimo are the Demonic Hierarchy's closest tie to the undead. Changelings A rare and ellusive species of demon that has managed to master the art of shapeshifting and the powers that come with it. The demonic changelings are truly something to be feared, because they can change shape with but a thought, and within a matter of seconds, making them one of the most deadly of demonic opponents to face in battle. They can easily go unnoticed amongst people, and therefore make perfect demonic spies that can cause chaos better than any other species within the Beezlebub ranks. Changelings are often said to be the causes of many wars throughout history, and discord within races, though this theory is still unproven. No one, not even other demons know the 'true' form of the Changelings, and no one probably ever will. Viau The Viau demons are gargoyle-like monsters that prefer to dwell within the darkness which birthed them, and the rest of their demonic kin. Viau demons so perfectly resemble the gargoyles that adorned human cathedrals for ages that it is often believed that they are the actual thing come to life; demons of the Viau breed even are said to possess a body of animated stone. It is true also that Viau demons are often found perching alongside their surviving, man-made counterparts atop of cathedrals and ruins from ancient times; some even say the two speak to one another, allowing the Viau demons to gain insight upon past, present, and future events. Yet, little is still known of the Viau by other races. Viau demons are said to be chaotic demons that play games of chance with the lives and situations of their prey and allies alike, which have earned them the title as tricksters. Known also as the Demons of Luck, Viau demons are said to be able to bring either good or bad luck upon whoever they choose, and at complete random. Furies Thus the Heavens wept, as from the depths arose the monsters of the darkness in all of their blackened glory, their wraith unkept... The Furies are monsters, simply said, and they mainly specialize in brute strength and terrible magic, especially the Elementai species. This sect could be said to be the 'shock troops' of the demonic hierarchy, providing powerful physical attacking breeds, and the powerful magical breeds as well, that could actually serve as mages during times of war. The Furies name originates from old human legend, just as so many names of the sects have, and since it's usually the humans that name the sects rather than the demons themselves. But the Furies were said to have been monsters (usually female) that attacked and screeched with such ferocity, that it was said that their cries could cause a man to go mad, and that they could rip men apart in a matter of mere seconds. The Furies sect has earned such a name due to it's insane ways of fighting, and the ear-splitting sound of some of the species within the sect, who's cries can sometimes be heard for miles. Mantagore The insectoid Mantagore is a horrendous beast believed to have been born from the darkness or 'Demon Realm', who, over a course of thousands of years, managed to tear through the boundaries between the Demon and Material Realms. The species, along with many other 'demons', then entered the Material Realm, as the boundaries between the Realms significantly weakened during the course of the Apocalypse. The Mantagore now dwells in the Material Realm, preying upon any sort of 'meat' it can get ahold of, both alive and dead. The Mantagore species often is thought to be totally mindless (much like the insects they seem to resemble), it's only thoughts upon killing and eating, it's hunger seeming to be eternal; and it's actions guided by it's fierce instincts. It is extremely fast, and it's amazing climbing skills make the species deadly opponents. Hell Hound A species of wolf or dog-like demons, the Hell Hounds are best known by the human legend of Cerberus, or, that they are the guardians of Hell. The species Hell Hound appear to be where the idea of werewolves originated, and other hellish canines who are said to haunt the wilds and other untamed lands. The Hell Hound demons are very intelligent and vicious, though they seem to maintain a more beastial demeanor than their other demonic kin, it is unknown though whether this is their choice or not. These demons are also credited with being the creators of the werewolf species as well as other were-beast breeds, since the species' are so alike. Hell Hound demons usually travel in large packs like natural wolves, though Hell Hounds tend to be at least five times bigger than any wolf, have magic capabilities, and can speak. Sub-species-Werewolves and other werebeasts Quezada Partially named after the Mayan god Quezacoatal, the serpent god of life and lightning; the Quezada demons are a near mirror-images of the legendary god. Quezada are serpent-like demons that master the magics of lightning and air, as well as some minor white magic abilities; and are extremely fierce when it comes to battle. These serpent-like demons also specifically thrive off of the flesh of humans, their love for the taste of human flesh is almost obsessive, and they are known to do almost anything to acquire it. Quezada demons are known to have annihilated entire human cities' populations within a matter of a few days, hunting down the inhabitants and devouring them on sight. Their mad hunts for human flesh are legendary, and all of the human race fears when this species of demon arises. Quezada demons are also known to have bird or angel-like wings (like the legendary god), and the species often branches out to form other reptilian sub-species of demons. Sub-species- Other reptilian demons Elementai This special breed of demon is the envy of all magic users, both within and outside of the Demonic species. The Elementai species are masters of magic and all of it's finer abilities, as well as masters of all of the elemental magics, as their names imply. Elementai demons serve as sorcerers/mages during times of battle, and even serve as clerics, healing the main warrior party and providing magical protection for the swarms. Though physically weaker than most other demons, Elementai demons are still capable of fighting physically, though they prefer to remain at the rear of the battle party and not get 'directly' involved in the fight. Elementai demons usually hide behind the physical attacking lines where they are protected fiercely, while they focus upon casting their most powerful of spells, which even include summons. Even if one were to break past the Elementai demon's magical defenses, the demonic mage can still cast an illusion to distract it's enemy whilst it escapes; retreating to the safety of the rear of the demonic army. General/Normal Demons Whether great or small, each of thy Dark One's kin, are born of the purest of sin... This by far is one of the sects with the greatest number aside from the Lesser Demons, and serve as the calvary/main fighters within the demonic army. The General, or Shai Demons, as they are called in their demonic tongue, consist of a wide variety of species and are only out done by the Outsiders sect in this. The Shai Demons are a balanced sect, in the means of physical and magical attacks/powers, but they fail to specialize, and therefore don't gain several of the other abilities and powers that normally would be gained by specific focus upon one 'art'. Other than that, they are a well-rounded sect that are tough to overcome in battle due to their talents and numbers, which are far more than that of the other higher-level sects. A Shai demon shouldn't be taken lightly just because it isn't as powerful as it's higher ranking brethren, for it is still more powerful (about 10-20x stronger) than even the strongest human warrior. Kragon Kragon demons are bladed monsters that stand nearly nine feet tall, and appear dinosaur-like (raptor-like) in appearance; due to their distant relation to the Quezada demons. Kragon demons are extremely fast runners (both bi-ped and quadra-ped running styles) that can run near 75 m.p.h., and are exceptional leapers that can leap over 30 feet in a single bound. The blades that cover the Kragon's bodies (that can range from 3-5ft. long) make then living razorblades, whose defenses are almost impossible to overcome, especially if the beast is still conscious and fighting. If in danger the Kragon demons can even curl up into a ball to protect themselves and attack their enemies like a saw blade, mowing through entire waves of attackers without being badly damaged themselves. Even when they're not in immediate danger, the Kragon have been known to leap out at their enemies and purposely curl themselves into a ball to mow them down in a surprise attack. One should take great care when fighting a Kragon demon, much less an army of them. Tiragoma As time went throughout the ages of the Apocalypse, the demonic race began to conquer all boundaries that hindered their race from total domination of the ruined world. In their race to conquer the world the demons evolved to overcome whatever hindered their progress, and thus the Tiragoma demons were born, demons that conquered the seas. While other demons took to the skies and land, the Tiragoma demons took over the seas that made up a large portion of the apocalyptic world, making it into their own personal realm of destruction. The Tiragoma or 'Sea Wolves', are perfectly adapted to their aquatic environment, but also are capable of moving and living on dry land, though they tend to prefer the seas more; where they are more at home, and far more dangerous. Though mainly aquatic, Tiragoma demons breathe air and can hold their breath for several hours before needing to surface and breathe again. Like all other demons the Tiragoma are carnivorous creatures, though their main diet now seems to consist more of fish and other aquatic lifeforms; they still enjoy the occasional taste of land animals and human flesh. The Tiragoma were given the name 'Sea Wolves' long ago by man when they encountered a 'pack' of the demons swimming out within the depths of the oceans; who were as agile as dolphins, but looked like some sort of aquatic species of wolf, complete with: four legs (instead of flippers or fins), a wolfish tail (though slightly longer, bigger, and flatter looking), triangular ears, and a wolf-like snout. The main differences between a Tiragoma and a wolf though were still apparent, since the 'Sea Wolves' have a pair of curved bull-like horns protruding just above their brows, short bluish-aqua, water-proof fur (that resembles scales), webbed, clawed feet, fins placed along their back, tail, and ankles, and a mouth full of needle-sharp teeth. A group of hungry Tiragoma is said to be worse than a swarm of angry and hungry piranna. Tiragoma demons also possess water and ice related magics. Saiz Stith The Saiz Stith or 'Shadow Weavers' as they are often called, are demons born of the 'Eternal Darkness' and thus are bound to darkness; which is both their blessing and curse. The Saiz Stith demons rarely venture out in daytime, and when they do they are forced to usually remain within the safety of the shadows, unless they be made relatively vulnerable otherwise. Their potential weakness though, has also been turned into a strength by the species, who have, over time learned how to manipulate and control the shadows to which they have been confined. This skill has made the Saiz Stith powerful enemies that can sneak from shadow to shadow (despite how small the shadows are), blending in perfectly with them, and allowing them to strike and perform stealth kills with literal ease. At night though, is when the Saiz Stith is at their best, and the time they are most feared. The species' only weakness seeming to be lack of shadows to hide in, which in turn is associated with bright light. Dreo The Dreo are demons born of the earth and consist of two different groups: the dybbuk and the infernus demons. The Dybbuk, or earthen borne dwell deep within the earth, haunting the many winding carverns that make up the dark 'Underworld', and rarely coming up to the surface. The Dybbuk also tend to live within the reaches of treacherous mountain ranges, cliff and hillsides, as well as any other rocky or rough terrain, where they can go about their business relatively undisturbed. These demons have very thick hides which can withstand the intense heat of molten lava and the edges of common metal blades, which make them not only hard to kill, but like living tanks. Dybbuk demons also have large clawed hands and feet for burrowing deep within the earth, as well as rock-crushing jaws which can make them deadly opponents; but, the Dybbuk demons have relatively poor eyesight, and are even more so blind in bright/daylight. The Infernus demons are fiery beasts born from the flames of Hell and the fires that rage on deep within the heart of the earth. Infernus demons are beasts made of pure fire that dwell within the fiery depths of the earth, and rarely surface, unless in the wake of a large fire or volcanic erruption. The Infernus are especially quick to attack, whether it be if they are being threatened or if their territories are invaded by outsiders (intentionally or non-intentionally doesn't matter); this species of demon is extremely aggressive, especially in comparison to the Dybbuk demons who are relatively docile unless openly threatened. Little else is known of these fiery beasts, and few have lived to account their encounter with one. Anu A truly sad species of demon, the Anu are distant relatives with the Loki demons, and thus are inflicted with a similar curse; the Anu are demons trapped within bodies that resemble 'angelic' human children. Despite their time spent in existance and in service to the Demonic Hierarchy and Dark Father, the Anu are physically unable to age, their bodies remaining eternally children, and this has driven many of the species insane. The species' desire to acquire adult bodies has become their obsession, an obsession which consumes their souls and in some cases their minds, so much so that the species are known to particularly prey off of human adults. Only children seem safe from this species of demon, who bypass them as if they were non-existant or simply because they don't care; though the species has been known to attack half-grown children in jealousy. Despite their innocent appearance as children, the Anu demons are some of the most evil, cold-blooded, and blood-thirsty demons within the Shai ranks. Their ability to blend in perfectly with human children, and their relatively large numbers has made them the ultimate 'hidden' threat to human society; and their superior psychic abilities (that thrive from their demonic powers/spirits) make them a very dangerous threat to all races. Lesser Demons Can thou count the number of the beast? Be it 666, or more than thou can fathom? The lowest 'official' ranking within the Demon Hierarchy, the Lesser Demons often serve as the main body of the demonic 'military' and are often the 'grunts' when it comes to battle. Though they aren't as powerful physically or magically as any of the other demon sects within the hierarchy, the Lesser Demons still are very powerful beings, especially in comparison to a man. Even as low-class demons, they still are demons none-the-less, and shouldn't be under-estimated; many men, even entire armies had fallen because they under-estimated the power of the Lesser Demons. In battle, a swarm of Lesser Demons can be far worse than a lone member of the higher ranks. These demons also come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, and are often known as the 'Chao' demons, the counter-parts to their Shai brethren. Atreu The Atreu are cat-like demons that were formerly revered by humans in ancient times as gods, but ever since their banishment into the Demon Realm seeming eons earlier, they have all but lost their 'godly' status. Ever since their banishment and release back into the Material Realm, the Atreu have become extremely bitter towards their divine 'cousins', even more so due to their loss of status in the human society. The Atreu, now like the rest of their brethren seek out the destruction of the divine with a terrible passion, and nothing will stand in the way of their goals, not even death itself; whom they have also seemed to have elluded, with their ability to become 'ghouls' and continue to haunt the Material Realm upon death. This ability probably having earned them the status of 'gods' in ancient times amongst the humans, since their spirits seem to be immortal; though this belief is false, seeing as the Atreu spirit, ghost, or ghoul can be destroyed, but only through a very difficult process that only necromancers can seem to perform. Few believe it worth the valuable time to be rid of the troublesome ghoul, instead waiting for the ghoul to grow bored and move on to the Plains of the Dead of it's own accord. Though not as much as a threat as it's higher ranking brethren, one has to be wary when battling the Atreu, since there are still scattered 'cults' that worship and serve them. These cults will battle to the death and willingly sacrifice their lives for their demon masters in exchange for the promise of being spared from the other demons' wrath, and that after death they will be granted immortality by being rebirthed as demons. Yudel The smallest demons in the Demonic Hierarchy, Yudel demons can easily fit in the palm of a human child's hand, and can easily reach other places inaccessible to other larger demons. Yudel demons are also commonly known as 'Wraiths' due to their tendency to 'possess' human bodies in order to fulfill tasks that they would otherwise be unable to fulfill; how they actually go about 'possessing' their human hosts remains unknown, though several rumors relating to the matter are flying about. Some humans believe that the Yudel 'possess' their host via an opening in the flesh, whether natural or made by themselves, from which they enter their host's body. It is then believed that the tiny demons crawl up through their hosts' flesh and up into their hosts' brains, where they seize control of their hosts' body by crushingthe unwilling hosts' will. By burrowing deep within the brain (without damaging it) the Yudel dig their claws into various segments of it, and use their demonic 'will' to take control of the neurons of their host's brain; so they are rendered helpless to do their bidding. Their is no known way to rid a possessed person of the demon, since the only way a Yudel demon within a human body can be destroyed is if the host is destroyed also. This may be nothing more than a rumor, but the possibility of such a thing is terrifying nonetheless. Kahl -More information Coming Soon... Tesha -More information Coming Soon... Emryus -More information Coming Soon... Outsiders As chaos now reigns supreme, do you think your Gods will hear you scream? The Outsiders sect is a sect composed of several species of demon, that have either been outcast from the hierarchy, or have simply left it of their own accord to pursue their own personal desires. The Outsiders sect is an unpredictible and vicious clan that does what it wishes and roams throughout the world with no real sort of leadership, and is as fierce as a starved pack of wolves. No species is safe within the face of a raging pack of Outsiders, since the brutes will even tear apart their own kin if it gets them what they want and satisfies their bloodlust. The Outsiders are a force to be reckoned with, and even other demons fear their brutality. Hybrids/Halflings Nothing sadder have I seen, than a demon bearing angel wings..... In the times of the Demonic Hierarchy little is seen of this ranking, which has fallen so low that it has fell to rankings with humans and other sorts of prey and fodder. Beings born of this sect are sad, miserable, and pathetic creatures that really have no place within the hierarchy or Demon Society in general. Little is heard of this sect due to the rarity of such beings, since within the Demon Order few, if any demons ever stray to co-exist with other races. But when one of these sad beasts comes into existance, the other members within the Demonic Hierarchy tend to ignore, shun, and even kill them, so such atrocities aren't allowed to live and possibly spread their 'curse'. The demon responsible for the birth of such a miserable creature is also destroyed by the members within the hierarchy. Half-Human Half-Demon The only known 'species' that dwells within this miserable sect, they are often shunned from both Human and Demonic Society. Such creatures never live longer than their early adulthood, usually exterminated by human hunters who fear their demonic side and demons that wish to put an end to their 'cursed' bloodline. Though few of these beings are born into the world, from time to time one is born, and when they are, such chaos ensues that the heavens are said to have cried out in agony. It is rare for a demon to take a human lover, and when one does the sect usually responsible belongs to the Lesser Demons and Outsiders, who are more easily overwhelmed by emotion than other sects. Almost all demons that commit such crimes are male, since female demons refuse to carry such miserable creatures, and often choose death before birthing such a monstrosity. It is rare for a halfling to live a full life. |
