Tributes To Repulsion
Napalm Death:"Maggots In Your Coffin" (from "Leaders not followers" EP)

Straight-forward version, maybe a little bit faster than the original.
Except this,it is faithful to the original track.I adore Barney's vocals, and they made great effect here.
Note that Napalm Death declared they would like to cover the entire Repulsion album (!!) and release it as a bonus disc with their next release (source:
sgoulmy.free.fr).
Also note that the original line-up from 1987-88 played the intro for "Stench of Burning Death" mixed with their own track "Deceiver" for a Peel Session in september 1987.

Entombed:"Black Breath" (from "Out of Hand" EP)

Recorded circa 93.It sounds like an Entombed track...in their "Wolverine Blues" period.Great compliment in my mouth.I like their mix of death and rock of the time...
This version keep the original spirit, and, add to this LG Petrov's rockin'growls and Nicke Andersson's rythmic gimmicks,it's a great moment.Do I dare to say it's maybe better than Repulsion's ???
I would like to.

Mortician:"Horrified" (from "Zombie Apocalypse")

Funny cover.Low vocals are excellent...if you wanna laugh.
You might already read it,I am not a huge fan of grind/gore metal,at least when it's such exagerated...So I won't say one more word...

If you know a band,or have your own, covering Repulsion, don't hesitate:send me a MP3 of your version and if you have a web site, give me your adress...You will be added to the list...
Goatkiller:"The Stench Of Burning Death"

Aaaaaargh!Download it,you won't recognize the song.Maybe the first riff but after it...
Sounds like a more brutal and blurry Anal Cunt."Singing" is unbelievable...Worst than Seth Putnam's growling...
Anyway it's a great cover in a modern grindcore style...
Download
Leaders Not Followers,for sure...
Gore,gore,gore...
Also on "Entombed" compilation
Slaughter Of The Innocents : Maggots In Your Coffin

Great cover by this band from Germany. They recorded it during a rehearsal session so prepape yourself for a very crude version of one of Repulsion's most memorable songs.
They're about to release a split EP with spanish band DENAK (this band has its web site
here).
You can download two of their songs... Instructions are
here.
