At the HFRC we currently offer two kinds of genetic identification. More could be added as time goes on.

Fertility Identification and Certification

Certificates of fertility are avaliavle for those horse owners who would like to make sure that a stallion or mare is capable of producing live offspring before an actual breeding . this porcedure can save you and potential customers of you horse time and money on breedings, which is great for business in the long run.

Our clinical fertility procedures are quick and easy, and require only a small sample of semen, or one un-fertilized egg. After recieving a sample we analyze it to see if it contains the correct gene sequences for fertility. horses are in and out of the clinic in under a day, and if you already have an egg or semen sample, you can simply mail it to us, and reciece a certification.

Upon results of the test you horse will recieve a certificate of fertility which can be posted on its web page.

Should you horse prove to be infertile, you may choose to try our fertility inhancement program. this program is almost always effective in fixing the problem.

Color Identification and Certification

Color producing horses are a great asset to any barn. A horse that is certfied homozygous is guaranteed to pass on the color gene to their half of the foals dna. The HFRC will test a horses genes for color, needing only a semen or egg sample. if a horse does indeed carry a homozygous gene your horse will be awarded a certificate of color.

*note: even thought a horse may be certified homozygous does not mean the foal will be a colored horse. the genetics of the foal depend on both parents, not just one*
