Lady in Red My wife Karen and I met in a Torrance ballroom dance studio where I was serving as an assistant teacher, and to which she had returned for the intermediate sessions. Back in 1990 I was taking private lessons, accompanied by a well known instructor named Margaret whose son was a USA ballroom dance champion. Nearly every night of the week I would assist in Margaret's beginning and intermediate classes, teaching steps that we picked up during the private lessons. It was nothing but dancing every night. No internet or computers back then, just discipline and practice. It did pay off in that I met Karen in the Tuesday night singles dance class. We've been inseparable ever since.

Karen and I have been married since September, 1991 and have traveled together to many exciting countries. We try to celebrate our anniversary in different foreign cities, but even though we do make careful travel plans each year, circumstances don't always allow for that. We have been fairly successful though, having our anniversaries in Beijing last year and in Queensland the two years previous.

One of the popular songs out at the time that we started going together was "The Lady In Red". Thinking about the lyrics to that song now, it seems fitting that I dedicate it to my wife. It describes the way I felt during those ballroom dancing days. Now playing is my vocal rendition of the song. The background music is a karaoke midi file.
