Why There Will NEVER be World Peace

Comments about this article
First and foremost, this is NOT a LIFE CHANGING ARTICLE. I mentioned it’s a “once in a lifetime article.” It’s a unique article from all the experiences and wisdom I have picked up during the course of my short life. Please read this article WORD FOR WORD. Tell your friends about it, and send them the link if this article is still available.
As usual when I use italics, I am making some side comments/thoughts. I have thought about this article a lot. My dilemma will be that I don’t have much time because I am very busy enjoying my life.
I am going to present various points in the article. Hopefully, I will tie these points to my central argument.
This is a long article to begin with. I should elaborate on some points, but I am not going to. If you have questions, e-mail me or do a Google search.
ENJOY!

Why There Will NEVER be World Peace

Year by year, day by day, moment by moment…it seems like to me many people in first world countries drift away towards the good in the world. There’s so much negative energy and animosity in our world today. I admit there’s good in the world but how much good. There’s a problem in “modern countries” (Europe, Japan, and USA), most people just want to know more and outsmart some one else.

Knowledge over Wisdom
In my opinion, I think I am the only person that I know who wants to seek true wisdom. I know thousands of people who are smarter than me based on SAT scores and GPA. If you got higher than 960 on the old SAT, congratulations you’re smarter than me. That’s what people care about right. Who has the higher GPA? Who can get the most awards?
What do these high grades bring you?
It sounds like I am saying, “Do badly in school, or flunk.” No, I want everyone to work hard and good grades. However, I just don’t want school and grades to consume most or all of your life. There’s a whole world out there to be discovered. However, someone’s trying to study the definition of the word onomatopoeia for their SAT preparation in order to get a 1600 (or a 2400, the new perfect score of the new SAT).
This is the most important lesson I have learned about wisdom. Wisdom is like the movie “Fight Club.”
Even though, I have not seen the movie.
A paraphrased quote from “Fight Club”: “You don’t talk about fight club to anyone.” Same thing applies to wisdom, in some ways.
And, I am still writing about wisdm.
By the way, there will be a special article on wisdom released on my birthday.

The Near Extinction of Indigenous Peoples in the Americas
Christopher Columbus discovered the “New World” in 1492, and the world has never been the same since then. Why?
There’s a reason why the majority of Americans live a relatively good life. Sacrifices have been made in the past and still today. The deaths of millions upon millions of indigenous people around the world have been the sacrifice.
“Indians” are not people trying to kill each other with a bow and arrow. The Native Americans have no choice but to defend themselves. They use violence as a last resort, not a first resort.
Tell that to our current Commander and Chief.
Here are there options: Defend yourselves and be killed or be killed without putting up a fight.
The United States Government, along with many state legislatures, since the late eighteenth century, have made over 300 hundred treaties with many indigenous tribes. How many treaties have been followed through by the “government?” NONE
Many people think of “Indians” has “noble savages. Just because, many indigenous groups don’t have a form of currency or government, doesn’t mean they’re not human beings. To be honest, dogs are being treated better than the Native Americans.
People might argue with me, the Native Americans are doing fine. Just look at how many Indian gaming casinos are in California. So, some money made in a casino can justify the annilation of millions of people for over the past 500 YEARS. IT’S TOO LATE. Now, many indigenous peoples of the younger generations have become “westernized.” They smoke, drink, and don’t care. SOUNDS FAMILIAR.
The Native Americans believed in wisdom. Since there are very few “real indigenous peoples” in America, I have to turn the “East” for some insightful thoughts.

Religion: A Divider
Religion is such a “hot button” issue. Religion unites few, and divides all.
Jesus of Nazareth came down to the earth over 2000 years ago, and for what. So, people can fight wars in his name. We have failed almost completely in his mission.
For the past two millennia, hundreds of millions of people died in for the sake of religion.
Jesus died in peace in order to save humanity. The Crusades, jihads (holy wars), and world wars have had major religious significances. WWJD…He would simply not fight any wars at all. If you believe in a peaceful God, then don’t ask Yahweh to help you kill another human being no matter what justification is there.
I wish John Lennon’s dream of “Imagine” can come true. I think it’s humanly impossible with the state of the world right now. Too much hate, and not enough love.
Even within one major religion, there are so many subdivisions. Take Christianity, the hierarchy of different faiths in Christianity are in the thousands as they are more subdivisions of each faith. Even within one church, there’s no “real community.” I still see cliques or groups of people hang out together and keep themselves away from the rest. It feels like the American spirit.
Many American presidents have said this phrase: “God Bless America,” such an egotistical point of view that shows what our country is all about. God has blessed America since this country is the wealthiest and most powerful country in the world. I like what Chris Rock in the movie “Head of State” said, “God Bless America, and everyone else.”

People are Egomaniacs Especially Rich People
This is not to say that everyone is an egomaniac.
People just care about themselves, and some are willing to push people out of their way in order to get what they want.
Here’s a true story:
A “technician” at a local high school asks a teenage boy politely, “How are you doing?” The seventeen year old kid replies back, “I am doing better than you” while he’s opening the door to his Mercedes Benz.
This teenager attends a Jesuit high school. This kid has some great parents. Hopefully, this kid and others like him can be taught by the Jesuits what the real world is all about.
Under the guidance of Saint Ignatius of Loyala, Jesuit education has provided excellent education for hundreds of years throughout the whole world. Jesuits have educated many millions of people in the tough world that we live in.

Rich, spoiled, yuppies live in their own little bubble and just think that the world revolves around them.
This does not mean that all rich people are bad. I know many people who are "well off" that are great human beings. I am against people who have all those three traits combined as stated above.
Many times they think when they see someone below them, “Eww! Poor people.” They are the ones have the power. Instead of helping others, they just try to screw almost everyone and maximize their profits.
These people need a dose of reality. I suggest going to anywhere around the world, except Canada, Europe, and Japan, and live in a place for a year. Most importantly, leave all your possessions behind. Now, let’s see how spoiled you really are.

What Happened to Common Sense
In America, we have to be “politically correct.” We can’t call the penis a penis. No, it has to be called a wiener. Handicapped people should be referred to as “special.” You might offend someone if you call someone a midget. They should be referred to as “little people.”
Wait there’s more.
There’s a billboard ad posted in San Francisco that states, “Lawsuits: the American Disease.”
So True
Here’s one of my favorite lawsuits: A fat guy in New Work sues five fast-food restaurant chains, which includes McDonald’s and Burger King, for millions of dollars. Why…because the food got him FAT.
What an idiot! I know how he exercises. He walks from restaurant to restaurant. Wait! I think this guy is so fat that he has to sit on a motorized wheelchair. Now, he’s really special. (By the way, I made up this italicized paragraph).
Even if you’re a Good Samaritan, by helping out a stranger in the streets, you can still be sued. This is a true story. An old lady lied across the park helpless, and looking for help to get up from the park grass. As a result, the Good Samaritan tries to help her up. However, the old lady says she’s going to sue this person because she had caused her “an injury.”
By the way, the old lady was perfectly fine. Many people will do anything for money these days.
Luckily, a bystander has noticed that this lady has pulled this routine off with other people before. As a result, this guy “went off” on the old lady. The Good Samaritan thanked the bystander (which became another Good Samaritan).
Um, the original Good Samaritan is the webmaster’s own mom. Whoppe dee doo

Taking Things to the Extreme
Exercise: Many people exercise too little or too much. Some people can take steroids while others become constant coach potatoes.
Eating habits: Obesity vs. Anorexia…Eating four full meals a day worth over 4000 calories to eating a celery stick and puking it up in the toilet seat.
Addictions: Alcohol, drugs especially cigarette smoke, and video games. Once you get started, it’s almost all over. Your addiction occupies may occupy some time in your life, or it just may consume your life.
Material possessions: The more things you have, the more you want, and the greedier a person may become. Just watch “MTV Cribs” to prove my point. On “Cribs”, all the celebrities showing off their big mansions and custom-made cars with diamond-crusted tire rims in order to prove who makes more money.

Too Much Negative Energy
For over twelve years, I have been riding public transportation, mainly bus, to go form place to place. Witnessing spray painting, fights, protests, and even receiving a beat-down after I got off the bus.
By the way, this guy beat me up just for a dollar in spare change.
People fighting, each other, all the time over frivolous things like TV watching. Many innocent people have been killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
That’s the world we live in. Desperate people do desperate things.

Big Business Controls Popular Culture
The European Union may be doing better than the States economic-wise since the Euro is worth more than a dollar. However, Europe is still controlled by big business. Just look at all the sponsorships European soccer teams have.
Millions of dollars are spent every day in advertising dollars for media ads in order to promote their products.
Why is this bad? At times, big business doesn’t allow many people to think for themselves? Some people just repeat the catchphrases they heard on TV.
NO one is truly independent since we dependent of others.

Here’s a recap of all the main points I have in this article:
Knowledge over Wisdom
The Near Extinction of Indigenous Peoples in the Americas
Religion: A Divider
What Happened to Common Sense
Taking Things to the Extreme
Too Much Negative Energy
People are Egomaniacs esp. Rich People
Big Business Controls Popular Culture

Is there hope for peace…SURE, WHY NOT? If one person doesn’t want peace, then peace won’t exist. It’s that simple. There are six million people in the world. To me, it seems like the most evil people on Earth are leading are countries and armies.
I am not going to mention any names.
I pose this question to you the reader: Do you ever think that there will be world peace?
