Five Good/Wise Sayings

“ Most Americans cannot really be happy since we live in a materialistic world. Many people are only happy during different moments at a time.”
--The Webmaster

“Human beings are so much alike…see the endless variety of people. How comforting to differences from another show us that it’s all right for us to be different in many ways, too."
--Mr. Rogers
May he rest in peace. A truly special person. In our society, we won’t see another person like him ever again.

“ The absence of love is the absence of trust.”
--Toni Morrison (Pulitzer Prize and Nobel Peace Prize Winner)
I attended a free discussion at the performing arts theatre at the University of California, Davis on November 30, 2004. Mrs. Morrison spoke to a panel compromised of eight women asking her questions. She’s just another brilliant American author. By the way, anyone ever heard of the made-for-TV movie “Angels in America,” the film that swept all categories in the 2004 Golden Globes and 2004 Emmy Awards. Mrs. Morrison wrote that novel that became an adapted into a brilliant screen play.

“ Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
--Buddha
So True…Following most trends suck. I suggest making up your own.

“ You go to church to find you some religion
And all you hear is connivin' and gossip and contradiction and
You try to vote and participate in the government
And the muh'fuckin' Democrats is actin' like Republicans
You join an organization that know black history
But ask them how they plan to make money and it's a mystery
Lookin' for the remedy but you can't see what's hurtin' you
The revolution's here, the revolution is personal”
--Talib Kweli from the song “The Beautiful Struggle”
