The mares slowly come into view. They're both lying down, speaking a few words here and there but otherwise settling for respective silence. Pastel Fortune was right--they were quiet. They have a serene air about them, and you walk up silently so as not to break it. ![]() ![]() The blue-coated one with purple mane and tail stands politely when you arrive. Then, seeing the other not doing the same, she gently kicks her. You suppress a giggle. With a glare at her spotted companion, the lion-tailed gets up. "Silent Sorrow," she says. "My name, that is." She watches you carefully. You smile nervously at her and introduce yourself in the same manner. The moment seemed a bit awkward, due to that unsettling stare. "And I'm Midnight Magic," the third one finishes, though you notice she chokes a bit on the words. She looks away. You stare at her for a moment, surprised at her behavior, but Silent Sorrow begins speaking again before you can comment. It's almost like she meant to do that. "I hear it's going to be a beautiful sunset tonight. Would you like to stay?" she asks hurriedly. "Look, it's almost time." "Um... Sure," you say, a bit confused. "I guess." It had been a while since you'd seen one. You all turn to the horizon expectantly. The tip of the sun disappears... Brilliant shades of red and orange are soon weaving across a dimming sky, while the fluffy white clouds show their golden undersides for all the world to see. It truly is beautiful, and you're sorry it passed so quickly. With that perfect climax to a wonderful day, you're off--back home to the lodge.
