"Aladania," comes a sweet, youthful voice from behind you.
You jump, freeze, then slowly turn around. You had heard no indications of a stranger nearby.
The equine figure you see looks surprised by the wary look on your face, and hesitates before speaking again. Eventually, though, she says, "I'm Aladania, first resident Zebracorn." She nods politely.
"Oh." You smile, relieved by her friendliness, and quickly introduce yourself. Then ensues a silence in which you look each other over.

She seems satisfied with what she sees, as you are yourself, yet nobody breaks the silence until Aladania asks, "So, am I a new creature to you? You are not to me. Many of your kind have visited me here."
You open your mouth to speak, then close it in thought. Hmm. She does look a bit familiar...
There! You've got it. You answer with, "Yes and no. I've not met any of your kind before, but there's another... Some kind of unicorn residing here. A Painted Unicorn, I believe. You look a bit like her."
She grins. "You're one of the few who realize that. We're both from the same land, and close enough in species that some even interbreed, though I myself am purely Zebracorn."
You nod, carefully adjusting in your mind the differences between the Paints and the Zebracorns. Aladania waits patiently as you do.
You realize now that it's cooler than when you met Aladania, and that the sun has set. The rays play across her coat, tinting it with a bluish color. You can't help watching them, until you're startled out of your thoughts by a nervous laugh from Ala.
"What...? Is my coat dusty, or something?" She turns her head and looks at it speculatively.
"Oh, no, sorry. I was just admiring it." Unfortunately, you're now uneasy because of her behavior, and state, "I guess I should be going now... To get a good night's rest. Good-bye." You flash a quick smile and turn back for home, conscious of her gaze on your back all the way until the next welcoming rise in the land.
