Hunter Cat
As you walk up to the start of the forest around the track, you see flashes of silver in among the trees. Frequent, familiar sounds enter your ears from the general direction of these glimpses. The sound familiar... It sounds like... What was that? Your mind's just on the verge of revealing it...
But you cannot remember. However, your curiosity is aroused, and you begin to make your silent way over, to see what it is.
Unfortunately, just before you reach the vicinity of the whatever-they-ares, you are startled out of your 'quiet' state of mind by a tremendous yowl emitted just below your feet. Something's dragged out from under you, and you're sent reeling backward into the trees, gaining quite a number of scrapes... But you ignore them for now as the being that startled you emerges from the undergrowth.
As the red hunter cat--your victim--emerges with its orange friend, you realize what you'd done. It could almost be funny. You'd stepped on the cat's tail.

The orange male hisses at you, tufted tail raised high, while the female half snarls and half whimpers, trying to bathe her wounded tail. Even more unfortunate for you, you no longer know where the silver creatures are.
But you soon find out. Hearing threatening noises from behind you, you back against a tree where you can keep track of both enemies. You aren't thrilled with what you see. The silver cats have joined with the plainer ones, hissing and glaring in disapproval.

"H-hey, it's all right," you say nervously, pressing against the sturdy bark. "I didn't mean to..." You start to inch around the back of your tree.
To your surprise, the four felines don't move at all. They just watch menacingly. You start to relax as you come to the other side, but your breath catches in your throat as you see yet another pair of the hunters, effectively cutting you off from escape.

These two, however, have playful looks on their faces as they watch you with curious expressions. They seem not to have seen your crime, and they cautiously investigate the unfamiliar creature in their territory. The one wih horns advances, inch by inch, until he's only a foot away from you. Then he bares his teeth and pounces, almost as if he's testing your reaction.
Well, he gets quite a reaction. You shriek and try to swat him off, of course... But you aren't very successful, and a small part of your mind registers that he's behaving like a predator. And you're the prey. But though he has sharp claws and teeth and horns--and companions--you're bigger. Finally pushing him off, you turn and run back in the direction you came, back to the track and the open landscape. Unfortunately, as you smack into branches, bushes and roots, the six felines are weaving among them. Weaving faster than you are. In fact, two of them are ahead of you right now, swerving to cut you off.
However, you aren't far from to forest edge. You charge for it...
Then you make it to the edge and past. When you finally realise you can't hear the chase behind you, you cautiously slow and stop. There they are. Right where the trees thin entirely, all six felines are parked. For once, you're glad there were such things as territories.
Panting, and dropping all plans you'd had for the forest, you head back home.
