Combative Prowess (Ex)
From all of your years of fighting, you have amassed a myriad of different feats that you have used over the years. You may choose a number of feats from the Fighter bonus feat list to create a Feat Pool. You may treat your levels in Mercenary as if they were levels in Fighter. If you have levels of Fighter, they stack for this purpose. The number of feats you can have in the Feat Pool is 4 + your class level however, you can only have 2 + ½ you class level prepared at any time. You must meet the prerequisites of any feat you have in your Feat Pool or have prepared. For every level, any feat that you have learned from gaining levels that were in your Feat Pool can be replaced with another feat or you can replace feats tht were in your Feat Pool with other feats. To prepare your feats, you must spend at least 1 hour in training.
Weapon Aptitude (Ex)
You gain the flexibility to adjust your weapon training. Each morning, you can spend 1 hour in weapon practice to change the designated weapon for any feat you have that applies only to a single weapon (such as Weapon Focus). You must have the newly designated weapon available during your practice session to make this change. For example, if you wish to change the designated weapon for your Weapon Focus feat from greatsword to longsword, you must have a longsword available to practice with during your practice session. You can adjust any number of your feats in this way, and you don't have to adjust them all in the same way. However, you can't change the weapon choices in such a way that you no longer meet the prerequisite for some other feat you possess. For instance, if you have both Weapon Focus (longsword) and Weapon Specialization (longsword), you can't change the designated weapon for Weapon Focus unless you also change the weapon for Weapon Specialization in the same way.
Combat Variant (Ex)
After spending years traveling from battlefield to battlefield, you have developed ways to make the most out of the feats you've learned. Every 4 levels starting at level 4, you can choose one of the bonuses below and apply it to feats that you know. You can only add up to 2 different variants to a feat. Each variant that you add to a feat, reduces the number of feats you can prepare.
Adaptability (Ex)
During the course of combat, you may spend an action to exchange a prepared feat with a feat from your Feat Pool. You may use this ability up to 3 times a day. Alternatively, you may spend one of you uses of Adaptability to apply a Combat Variant to an unmodified feat you have for 1 minute. Using it this way does not alter the amount of feats you can have.
