Lightning Strikes Twice |
Duel of Lightning
You deliver a challenge to a foe, wagering your very existence in 1 on 1 combat. You infuse yourself with a dangerous form of lightning known as the "The Oath" to gain a morale bonus to your attack and damage rolls against that foe equal to your Duel level(see below) and an AC bonus equal to your class level. However, "The Oath" also damages you every round during the duel. The damage from "The Oath" cannot not be mitigated or resisted by any means. You may only challenge a creature to a duel once per day per level.
Winning the fight increases your Duel level according to the chart below. While, losing the fight reduces it by a level. If you lose your Duel while at level 0, you lose your ability to use your Lightning Knight abilities for 24 hours. If you however win a duel at level 10, you retain the attack, damage, and AC bonus for 1 hour without taking damage from "The Oath"
To increase your Duel level you must abide by certain guidelines. Breaking any one of these guidelines results in a level down for your Duel level.
- Your foe must have a INT score of 5 or higher to accept the Duel
- They must have a CR greater than or equal to your character level - 2
- You must fight the foe alone
- Your foe must be capable of fighting back

Lightning Bolt
As a Lightning Knight, you possess the ability to manipulate electricity to a certain degree. As a standard action, you create a bolt of lightning that can be thrown according to the range of your Duel level. It is a ranged touch attack that provokes an attack of opportunity.
Spark of Resistance
You gain shock resistance equal to 5× your Lightning Knight level
Static Infusion
Your understanding of lightning has granted you the ability to apply its power to your weapons and spells. As a swift action, you can make your weapon be treated as though it had Shocking Burst enchantment for as long as you are using it. In addition, you can have any spell you cast deal that deals hit point damage deal shock damage instead.
Surging Step
With special training, you have found a way to move with deadly alacrity using your Lightning bolt. Five times per day as a move action, you may travel to any point instantaneously that was hit by your lightning bolt. Movement this way, before and after, does not provoke an attack of opportunity. In addition, you may expend one of your uses as an immediate action to roll a d8 and add that to your AC as a dodge bonus for 1 attack against you.
Lightning Strikes Twice
By using the strange properties of the electricity created by "The Oath", you are able to revive self from near death. Once per day as an immediate action if you are dealt damage that puts you at -10 or lower, you can make DC 25 Fortitude save to become stable. But in return, your Duel level is reduced by one and you will be unable to use any lightning Knight abilities for 24 hours. You do not have to be in a duel to use this ability.
